We have an organic coffee and fruit farm nestled in a small valley of mountains located in Costa Rica. The farm has become a haven for animals in need of care and we currently have seven dogs, three pigs, a cat, rabbit and horse on the property. Our interest is in having an individual/s with interest in nature, animals and enjoying the food of the land. We strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prefer caretakers who are the same (no drinkers, smokers or drug users). We are committed to helping animals in need, and won't compromise that commitment by allowing any type of animal product consumption by our guests on the farm. Even though not all our previous volunteers were vegetarian or vegan, they all ate vegan while staying with us. That has held true for tourist guests as well. If you want to learn about the traditions and language of the people from this beautiful region and assist with our farm projects, contact us for more information.Area: Berlin
We run a park similar to 30 such parks that exist in all over the world. They are a place for lingering and meeting, and radiate a new spirituality that rejects all forms of violence and discrimination, appealing to the sacred dimension of the human spirit, seeking to discover freedom and meaning. We are 30 friends from different countries, who bought this piece of land and this farmhouse. We are financing it from our own pockets and with the help of our friends. There is no any institution, organisation or company sponsoring us. The transformation into a park of study and reflection goes step by step and all the work we do ourselves is voluntary work.Area: Wales
We are a 10 acre smallholding in mid Wales. Two homes -myself Jules and husband Nick in one, and my daughter Rebbecca, and son in law Woef in the other. It`s a beautiful place - woods and fields full of wild flowers, a ceramic studio (available to those interested) a polytunnel with veg, gardens and a tree nursery (see website ). There are always lots of renovations to do, new plans and ideas, good conversation and laughter. We cook great food (one house vegetarian) and brew wonderful beer, so lots to do if it`s raining. We have no livestock at the moment, only 4 wonderful dogs - and a frisbee.Area: Aquitaine
Hello, I am a French native origionally from Paris, I speak some English thanks mostly to the work in which I have been involved. I live with one beautiful dog and a cat in a peaceful location rural France but near to shops and towns, I am a very social person and often out, there is plenty of good French on offer and I am often visited by English and French friends, and invited to BBQs, house parties etc. to which you are more than invited. I operate a plant nursery from home and this does not leave me a lot of free time to work on the house and garden, therefore projects include gardening/weeding, land clearing, D.I.Y, some painting. The house and barns, being contructed over 200 years ago, in local stone, the house is full of features and charm. I am openly gay and so it goes without saying, if you are homophobic you would be better finiding another location. I am happy that you share all meals during your stay. To the side of the property you will find a charming salt water pool, wireless internet and more peace and quiet than you could shake a stick at!Area: Quebec
