Area:Our hostel is a brand new hostel located on the famous Stairs Passage, within the very heart of Sibiu. It is not that big, we have 18 places. The hostel is right next to Brukenthal Palace and within walking distance to all the historical monuments, bars and clubs. Housed in a medieval building with high ceilings, époque tiles and wooden floors, our hostel is modern equipped and decorated in a casual chic decor, offering a homey and high quality stay.
Area: AndaluciaOurs is a pretty little farm on several terraces overlooking the river valley. We have a variety of fruit and nut trees, shrubs and gardens. Our children have grown and left home and we enjoy the company of young and interesting people.
Area: Languedoc RoussillonBenoit is an architect/scenographer and I'm a scenic artist. I'm English, and have lived in France for the past 25 years. We have recently bought an old house in the centre of the village of Sommieres, which is a pretty, Medieval town on the banks of a small river. We are going to create 2 appartments in the building, but at the moment, there's still a whole lot to do. We dont work full time on the house, as we both have other work going on, so we have to find days in between jobs when we can work on the house. We have finished the roof and the façade, and put in new windows, so it is at least waterproof! but we still have to finish 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, and do all the interior work. We do not live on site at the moment, but we've made a bedroom where we sleep overnight sometimes, and the adjoining bathroom is almost finished too. We live about 45mins away, so you can either stay with us, and we'll drive over there, or stay on site. We have a futon bed in a spare room for you, plus your own bathroom downstairs, so its suitable for a couple if you're both willing to work. Its a very old stone house, and we are using old traditional methods, and natural materials, as we're in a protected area, so the rendering is lime wash, and apart from demolition and basic building work, there's also plumbing, electricty, and painting to be done, and other various jobs. Its a 4 story house, so involves a lot of going up and down a narrow stairway, which is very tiring at the end of the day.
