Area: ScotlandSmall friendly organic market garden in west of Scotland, about ten miles from Glasgow city centre. We set up the farm 25 years ago to provide young people with training in natural goat-keeping and all aspects of organic growing, such as permaculture. biodynamic methods and other innovative and time-saving methods. We are looking for volunteers to join us for long or short stays (minimum three weeks) who want to know more about growing food and survival methods such as saving seed. In return for about six hours work a day you will enjoy healthy organic food and stay in a heated caravan. The work can sometimes be hard but we have a lot of fun! We are close to Glasgow with it's many cultural attractions, and Stirling and Edinburgh are close enough for day trips. The Scottish landscape is very beautiful and varied - we can suggest many wonderful places to visit!

Area: OntarioMy partner Alister and I are a young, environmentally/socially-conscious couple and small business owners involved in growing food, permaculture, indigenous issues, and living more in tune with the land. We also live with a very friendly black cat named Buster. Alister speaks English, français, español, português, & 日本語 (though cannot read Japanese). I speak English and very basic French, and am always eager to learn anything I can about other languages and cultures. We have dedicated our lives to protecting and reconnecting people with nature. We have travelled or lived in many places around the world (including Latin America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and several islands), and we love to share good food and good music with good company. We think food is sacred. It connects us to ourselves, each other, and the Earth. We love all food that is good, natural, and prepared-with-love. Please, please, please share your favourite recipes! Though we live in the heart (or the bowels) of the city, we have (re)created our own slice of country paradise where we live, and aim to grow as much of our own food as we can (it's a constant learning process!). We have also started our own small business where we reconnect people to nature through gardening, survival skills, and food. We believe that if we all start small, think global but act local, work together, and learn from nature and each other, we can all live happier, healthier, more fulfilling and harmonious lives. We're looking forward to meeting you!
