Work
We always need additional helping hands ... so volunteers are much appreciated. We request 14 hours work per volunteer per week,(spread over 2- ½ days) leaving the rest of the week free for our volunteers to do as they wish.
Tasks include gardening, guiding guests on Llama Eco-Treks, firewood collection, cleaning our two guest cottages, property maintenance, assistance with conservation projects (such as removal of invasive weeds) and maintaining our wildlife facilities.
In exchange, we provide our volunteers with their own private, self-contained, fully-furnished bluestone cottage - with open fire, satellite TV, DVD + CD players, wireless internet access, (BYO laptops) fully-equipped kitchen, gas BBQ and heated outdoor Jacuzzi!
We supply mountain bikes and tennis racquets for our volunteers to use whilst here and encourage them to enjoy the property and all its facilities. Activities include: cycling; tennis; fishing; boating; bush-walking; bird-watching; wildlife spotting and more!
We have an extensive orchard and vegetable garden – and volunteers are welcome to select seasonal fruit and vegetables whenever they wish – but they are required to provide (and cook) whatever other food they need … and are expected to keep their cottage clean and tidy at all times.
