We are a couple Dutch 44 and Tunisian 32 setting up a horse farm in the very South of Tunisia, in Douz in a Bedouin culture. We have 7 horses, 3 dogs and 2 cats to look after. From the end of September until the end of May we organise horse and dromedary trekkings through the Tunisian Sahara. We only take experienced horse riders as volunteers! Others are very very welcome as (paying) guests. During summer you can expect a lot of Bedouin weddings, for photographers a must to experience!Area: Inside Madidi National Park
Option 1. Torewa is an indigenous community of Quechua-Lecos indians that is located in the heart of Madidi National Park in Bolivia, surrounded by a million and a half hectares of protected Amazon rainforest. We offer a very unique type of community volunteering where you can stay from two weeks to two months in one of the largest protected Amazon regions in the world. Animal encounters here are surely beyond what may be experienced in other areas and reserves of smaller size. This is a unique possibility to travel deep inside the Amazon to one of it's largest and best preserved areas and volunteer in a true isolated indigenous community. surrounded by endles extyensions of untouched primary tropical Amazon rainfroest. There is no electricity, running water, or any services whatsoever. This is not the type of easy volunteering for people that search free lodging and food. This is an once in a lifetime nature experience that is waiting for only but a few. To come here you are asked to bring food supplies, and transportation is difficult since you need to either hire a shuttle boat or wait for some days for a boat to take you there. Speaking some spanish is required. Option 2. Working in a tour agency in the town of Rurrenabaque that offers tours to madidi national park.Area: south - coastal "litoral Norte" Mata Atlantic Rainforest
Summary: Our project is a "new" ecovillage on Ilha das Couves and we are seeking environmentally minded volunteers to help with all services involved with creating and operating a sustainable community - from bottom up. The coastal area of Sao Paulo is beautiful and part of the original mata atlantic rainforest - a highly visable and valuable earth resource. We will be planting a permaculture organic farm, clearing an eco trail system and setting up bamboo geo domes to accommodate overnight guests. Our plan is to offer educational and spiritual empowerment training programs to small groups and corporate envirnomental retreats. This opportunity has started and will continue year round. Short term and long term assignments available. Our organization is a registered Brasilian non profit. We are ready, willing and able to help you learn and grow. Brasil requires most countries to issue a tourism visa before traveling. Please check to verify what your requirements are before traveling. Note: We do not supply insurance. You can get insurance policy as necessary from private providers. Your assistance is greatly needed and appreciated. This opportunity is a great cultural exchange and unique living experience. We are spiritually minded people and value each persons contribution. We will be charging a small daily fee of 10$US per person. Funds will go towards a capital campaign to make infrastructure improvements and green utility system investments. Food and other living expenses will be shared equally. We try to keep food expenses around 15 reais per day..this includes three healthy meals each day will fresh fish, fruits, veggies, nuts etc..We have plenty of coconuts and bananas already growing and will start producing much more produce in the coming months. The boat trip to the island costs 40$ reais round trip. Please bring your own sleeping bag or linen. This institution was created by the initiative of a group of neighbors in order to attend to urgent basic needs of many families in our community Nowadays we help 50 families from Monday to Sunday, having between 6 and 14 children each, all of them at risk. After a short while some businesses in the area learnt about our project and started to cooperate so that the help given would improve daily. In this way we could carry out our main objective: To supply families with the necessary tools to generate real income resources. This project is self supporting at the medium term but in the meantime it is necessary to continue feeding and helping children mainly, who are the most critical age group. This is why your contribution is essential to maintain our mission.Area: Rajasthan
We run a camel safari tour company, in Rajasthan (recommended by Lonely Planet). We are busy with business and need someone to assist us in English communication. We can offer free, "home-stay" style accommodation and meals. We would also appreciate help with our safaris, and anyone who comes to work here will surely have the chance to enjoy the beautiful desert landscape. We are village people with a long history of social work. We would love the chance to exchange information about our culture and the work we are doing here.
