    Description

    Gday

Our life has changed substantially since we last had workawayers come and stay with us. In that time my young kids have grown somewhat and have headed to boarding school.

Our life is split between station life and that of a small 5 acre place just Nth of Townsville where we are fairly close to busses and only about 20min from Townsville airport.

Here we have a couple of horses, dogs, chickens and my husband races a small team of racing pigeons.

My girls and I have grown up riding horses especially pure and part bred Arabians for endurance riding, this took a backwards step whilst the kids were young, however they are getting to the point now where they are able to step up and start competing a little more seriously.

There are lovely beaches and bush tracks around the area to ride on however with the kids at boarding school I am unable to put the education and training required to get these young horses prepared and fit enough to compete.

My back ground with horses is fairly diverse I have done some English Dressage riding when growing up, sporting etc plenty of bush riding and more recently carriage driving mainly for pleasure but I really enjoy the multi day drives.

Later in the year a small group of us will be travelling in convoy to the 100th year Cobb & Co re-enactment that is on every 5 years. It’s a two day long distance carriage drive and festival with horse and carts coming from all over Australia to attend. It’s a chance to relax ride along make great friends, and see some really lovely country, experiences you will never forget.

I’m not looking for an employee, more some company, someone who will fit into our family and help out a bit, with feeding the animals, exercising /training/riding the horses, a bit of gardening/mowing and light housework allowing me more time to complete my chores (paperwork) so that there is more time to play ponies.

My horses unfortunately are not slugs and will require riders with experience, We will be travelling to events so there will be an opportunity to see more of the area not just stuck in one place.

In exchange you will be treated as one of the family, lodging is a one room private airconditioned granny flat suitable for a single person or couple (double bed) and meals supplied. Phone reception isn't too bad with Telstra being the most reliable. It would be best if possible if you were able to stay for a few weeks to get some continuity of life.

I do request non smokers, neither my husband or myself smoke and we do appreciate the clean air.

If this sounds like it might suit you please feel welcome to drop me a message for further information of to find out more to determine if we can sort out a mutual experience.
