    companion - gardening - driving - theatre - dancing - walking

I am an active older widow who now lives alone and is in need of some company. I am epileptic and for safety reasons need to be accompanied, by an active companion on my daily walks along the beach, or riding my bicycle; for when I go dancing someone to drive my car when I travel, someone who would enjoy going to the Tasmanian symphony orchestra an all round caring person who also enjoys working in the garden. Someone who is comfortable phoning the ambulance if I have a seizure.

Hobart city is a thriving metropolis, with an amazing history; built by convicts, and free settlers some of whom took up the land farming. The river is still a busy highway with many ships bringing tourist to our shores. The local bus that will take you into town is quite close to where we live. Although small Hobart has all the advantages of a big city. Really good restaurants, the oldest theatre in Australia, the first Casino in Tasmania, Mona a world renowned museum, and a cinema that shows international films. There are river cruises and bus tours all leaving from central Hobart on a regular basis. Walks in such pristine areas as Mt Field in the Central Highlands or Wine Glass Bay around the east coast or Strahan on the west coast, as well as many others can also be arranged through the National Parks. Travellers will be able to take away memories of what amounts to relatively young history, and a history that is the oldest in the world. They will also be surprised with the fresh air, and clear sky always full of stars.

I would like an active companion - one who is comfortable working closely with an older lady. Walking along the beach, riding a bicycle, driving to; and participating in the different past-times that I am enjoying - painting classes, choir, singing, and piano lessons, someone who is computer literate. Someone who would enjoy listening to the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, watching a film at the cinema, going to the theatre. Someone who enjoys working in the garden, growing a few things for the table. Most importantly, a person who is comfortable dialling 000 for the ambulance, in the event that one is needed.

As a companion you are not required to cook or clean my area, only your own area, and cook your own meals, in your own unit.

Free time can be spent in many ways; walking on the mountain, looking at the cottages built by the first settlers, listening to jazz in the many small pubs and clubs, going to the theatre, symphony orchestra, casino, art galleries, museums, and numerous markets, including Salamanca Market, sailing, judo, yoga, kayaking. You can join a choir. We have some beautiful churches. There are tours on the river or by bus which leave from Hobart central on a regular basis only a short bus ride away from our house.
