Area: SaxonyHey to all workawayers, We are a family living in a village near Dresden (40 minutes by bus to the center, public transport works quit good, its possible to go to the city almost all night long). Dresden is a beutifull baroque town, whith a lot of things to explore. Its a quit old city with a lot of young students living in it. There is not only the old part, with all the ancient buildings, but also a new part, with a interesting alternative lifestyle. But Dresden isnt that big, you will discover it yourself. Our family counts quit a lot of members :) But right now only two of our six children are living with me and my husband. Gabriel and Christiane are 15 and 17. My husband is after a sickness in need of care, alsmost all day long, that means my daily job is to be a mother and a personal nurse for my husband, its not always a easy job to do, but I always to it with all my love and energy I can give in to it. Since we live in a house with a garden around, and my husband cant help me with it anymore, there are always a lot of things to do. But your help isnt the only reason I signed up to workaway: since I cant travel so much I love to have guests from all over the world.I will be glad to do some excursions with you, up to my timetable. My son helped me with my profile, because my english isnt that good. That means at least some german is required to be spoken for the workawayers at my place, but I am sure that we will communicate in any possible way, we will find together. It would be nice, if you write me, to write at least something about you, your talents you bring with you, your interests, and your plans you have in Germany.
Area: Bay of PlentyWe have a 20 unit motel in the rural community of Kawerau. Set on 2 acres of parklike grounds this is a beautiful place to relax after travelling. It is easily accessed by bus from Rotorua. While we do have some tourist type guests, and we certainly provide accomodation for community events, most of our guests are people whose work brings them into the area - specialist tradesmen, truck drivers, maintenance crews, etc. A lot of these folks need to be fed, so we provide a 3 course, homecooked dinner, and cut lunches where required.
Area: AlicanteOur company organises programmes that bring together a group of volunteer native English speakers and a group of Spaniards for a week in a four star hotel. The goal of the programme is for Spaniards to speak English and improve their capacity to communicate in English. Volunteers get free **** hotel accommodation and meals during the week. In exchange, we ask you to take part in activities such as one-to-ones, telephone calls, group conversations, etc.
Area: Midi PyreneesWe are a french familly with 5 children (age :5, 8 , 13, 14 and 16). He works full time and she takes care of the children. We live in a old farm close to Toulouse (15km) in the countryside. We have a big garden (approx. 6 acres) and a few animals (cat, sheeps) During winter time we are looking for help with housekeeping, cooking and occasional babysitting. In spring and summer (from April to November) we really need helpers motivated by gardening (like weeding, mowing...) and also some building and renovating. Usually everything goes fine, but we like to give ourselves a week to decide whether this is working or not, on our side, as well as on our guests' side. The whole family is very interested in discovering various cultures and will be very happy to share moments with you, and exchange about our respective cultures, languages, and gastronomies. We really appreciate it when our guests teach us a recipe from their country. Guests who do not speak french are also welcome (we speak english and a bit of spanish).
Area: BavariaWe live in Dinkelsbühl, a beautiful medieval town, situated at the "Romantic Road" in Bavaria. Our house is in the historical centre of Dinkelsbühl. 5 persons belong to our household. Me (52), I´m a teacher, my husband (56), he is already retired, our son (22), our daughter (20), both are at university and our granddaughter, born in January 13. My husband and you will take care of the little child during I am at school in the morning. We also have a guesthouse that is for rent for tourists. We expecially need your help for babysitting and different types of housework, like cooking, cleaning, ironing and so on. Sometimes maintenance work around the house is required and now and then we need a helping hand with preparing the rooms of the guesthouse. We will enjoy talking to you in your mother tongue for practising other languages and we will help you to go further in speaking German. We are very interested in cultural exchanges, because we have been hostfamily for several au-pairs or exchange students doing a year abroad a lot of times in the past.
