Area: Castilla la ManchaWe are a Hare Krishna religious organization. We are a community of 20 people living in this place regularly. The people who are usually visiting us are very nice. We have two big buildings with lots of rooms for guests who are visiting us. The volunteers of workaway will use these rooms. We are vegetarian and we don´t eat meat, fish and eggs. We don´t drink alcohol and it´s not allowed to smoke in the farm. We are looking for 3 or 4 volunteers of workaway to help us with the cows and the orchards ( planting, watering, cleaning weeds, harvesting, etc) We have a farm with 300 hectares, a beautiful forest, prairies, cultivated land, etc. It´s 5 kilometres from the nearest village, Brihuega with 2500 inhabitants. The climate in summer time is very nice. This is a spiritual organization and we have a very peaceful atmosphere in the area. We hope some people like working in this peaceful atmosphere.
Area: AlentejoWe are a Spanish family running a horse riding business in Portugal. We offer you a multicultural experience. Our organic farm is located in Marvao, a touristic place in the wild nature with very beautiful sceneries, next to the Spanish border. The father, Jose, is a doctor and has to work often. The mother, Maria, studies Political Science. And the 5 "children", from 17 to 27 years old, come to help whenever they can. So we need someone who could look after the 16 horses (a donkey and a mule included), 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. In the business, we do everything: horseback rides in the nature with tourists, horseriding lessons, hippotherapy, break in horses... We need someone that has been already in touch with horses, love them and likes to take care of them, and someone who is enthousiastic and not afraid of hard work.
Area: QuebecHi! We are Alain and Rémi. We own a beautiful 1932 log home on a mountaintop near the touristic village of Montebello, Quebec. The home was built by the same architects and craftsmen who constructed Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello, the largest log building in the world. The village is located between Montreal and Ottawa, and is only 50 minutes to Mont-Tremblant. There are also daily buses traveling to Ottawa and Montreal. The Omega Park (a safari-like zoo of Canadian wildlife) is only a few minutes drive from our place. And at walking distance from our property, you'll find the Papineau Manor, a National Historic Site (near the Chateau Montebello), where lived one of the last Lords (Seigneur) of New France. We have 3 purebred Siberian huskies, who sleep in their private cabin and play in their gated playground. We are easy going, enjoy nature and like meeting people from around the world. We also own a tourist attraction business, which provides mystery safaris on an electric ATVs.
Area: North Rhine WestphaliaHello and welcome to our profile We still have space of 20. 09. 2013 to 15.10. 2013 Are you interested in visiting Germany? Do you want to stay with a nice unique family in the middle of Germany? Are you friendly, non smoker and your mother language is English or French? Welcome to our home!!! We are Elena (46) and Dieter (58) and we have two children; Maik (14) and Alice (11) and our friendly dog Fina. We live in Lohfeld, close to Porta Westfalica in North Rhine Westphalia. The nearest large cities are Minden, Bielefeld and Hannover, which you can reach by train or bus and we can collect you. The nearest airports are Hannover or Dortmund. We want a couple or a single person to improve our English or French and to help our children learn your language. You can help us in our big garden or house – there is always something to do ... Dieter drives regularly to the big cities in Germany: Hamburg, Berlin, Dortmund – so if there is time and you are interested you can go with him to see some different areas of Germany. We ask that you work five hours a day in return for food and accommodation. Our English is not the best :-) That is the main reason why we are looking for “help”. You will be a part of our family – talking, cooking, eating and laughing together.
Area: MaineHello! I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, teaching for 25 years; I travel to India annually to study under BKS Iyengar. I have also been a professional musician/bandleader/producer for many years and I still keep my hand in, though not as much as in days gone by… Our home is a vegan sanctuary. We aim to embody, encourage and support a vegan lifestyle. I take in paying guests from all over the world who take the yoga classes, or just stay over for a while, detox in the healthy coastal surroundings and relax in our laid back community. Next summer 2015 we are planning to begin work on a Vegan Garden; our vision is that it will be open to the public and we will also have an indoor space where there will be a little library and information center to share information and support on Veganism. May through September I need someone who has gardening experience to help with this project. I can offer room and board to a resourceful, independent, unfussy person who shares our love of a simple life... You would have to do your own cooking but would be included in any communal meals we have as well. We are easy-going, respectful of people's privacy, and at the same time treat everyone like family. If you work here you will have plenty of free time. You can also take the yoga classes free of charge. We are ethical vegans and need someone who is ok to also be vegan as long as they are here. You would do 3 - 4 hours per day of work for us, so you could seek another, part-time job to earn some extra cash if desired.
