    Description

We went around the Orient volunteering from project to project, growing, healing and getting inspired until we felt the call to stabilize at one place and start our own thing. Before that we had decided to give away our city life - in Berlin - and come back to our home land. Back home to the land.

Back in Portugal we were seduced by our family's Quinta asking us to bring life back to this beautiful place with much history. And here we are taking the challenge to renourish it. Working towards creating a Permaculture.
So we have this big unsustainable house and dry soil during the summer. We want to slowly turn it into a sustainable and eco friendly place and reforest the land. Still we are very lucky because there are already many old trees with fruits and nuts, which invite many birds to come over.

We dream of creating an harmonious community feeling, where everyone is free and responsible. A sacred space where we all can celebrate life.
There will be few paying guests (hopefully), so we get the economies of the project working, a few volunteers, us two and probably some family and friends from time to time. It is a sacred space where everyone should be free but responsible, respect each other and most of all the mother earth. We welcome motivated people who are autonomous and know how to take their responsibilities. Creative minds, centered and focused. There will be a lot of time to enjoy but we also need to get things done! Mostly enjoying making things together and develop on the relationships.

Please take the time to read the whole profile. In case it resonates with you, let us know a bit about you and why would you like to come.

May us play and grow together.

    With love,
    Mónica and Samuel

*** UPDATE after some time closed in the nest ***

It has been two years since we started moving to this place. A lot of magic has happened during this time and with much help we got our nest ready to live in. Here we were blessed with the birth of a sprout which started growing inside Mónica´s belly. Since Surya came out we have been living inside this family bubble growing in love.
Now that she is over 5 Months old we start opening again.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We offer you a place where you should feel at home and part of the family. You can stay in a room from the house, if available, or in a tent under one of the native Alfarroba trees, magical centenary trees that form great shelters. There is a kitchen with a fridge and all the facilities for cooking.

The farm is quite big (3 hectares) and you can walk around and explore the area. Santo Estêvão is a cute little village.
Amazing Tavira Island and Praia do Barril are close by.
There are many interesting people and projects in the area.

We have a beautiful view to the sea with amazing sunrises, sunsets and starry skies. There will be some toys to play around, like the pool, a slackline, music instruments.. we also love to dance, laugh, sing, massage, chat, meditate, have meals togehter...

There are a lot of ideas for projects, some have already been materialised, others are still waiting. Some upcoming projects are:

Create a second entrance to the farm. Move some things around, design pathways and plant along.
Build a eira floor with clay, as a space to dance and play.
    Build a roof for a workshop/storehouse.
Take care of the garden and fruit trees.
Design beautiful spaces and details around the farm.

We were used to do everything together with volunteers, from yoga sessions in the morning, to meals, works in the farm, building, adventures outdoors, chating evenings and afternoons, ...

But now as we are still very focused and getting used to our new family dynamic we propose a different exchange.
We ask you to help us out something around 3 hours per day in our projects in exchange for the stay, facilities and experience. You are responsible to organise your own food. Is also very important that you are responsible to clean after yourself as you will probably be sharing kitchen, toilet and common living areas with other people who are renting the space.

Everyday is a new present and we let it flow organically. Although, we will mostly ask you help during the mornings.

We like you to come at least for 2/3 weeks, so you have time to arrive, synchronise and create. We can get to know each others and grow on our relationships.
It is ideal for us if you have the experience to take on a project and feel confident to make it happen. We would be happy to let you create providing what we can.
Also important that you are open to do not only the jobs you wish. Occasionally there will be some cleaning needed, or whatever else might come up.

    Please be conscious.

We are also trying to organize bicycles so you guys can drive around. Quinta Brás is in Santo Estevão, the beach is just 7 km away. Tavira, a beautiful picturesque village at the same distance. In the opposite direction you can start exploring the mountains and valleys. Our farm is just on the first hills by the sea.
