  • Description

    Description

Our homestead includes Organic gardens, a small food forest orchard, chickens & ducks, pigs in the woods and an “Earthship” (rammed earth tire wall/hempcrete/off-grid home).

We use Korean Natural Farming (KNF) techniques for fertilizers and pesticides based on fermentation and locally harvested microbes. Betty is a chef and is always busy baking, fermenting, canning, and cooking wonderful meals for us. Betty also works off-farm at her Organic grocery store, Eat Pure Mountain Market.

Our long-term plans include sharing our land and building a permaculture micro-community. We seek motivated helping hands who wish to expand their knowledge of permaculture and living off grid!  We are looking for co-creators with skills with tools, horticulture or animals, knowledge of permaculture, and willingness to get dirty, work hard, live minimally, and have fun! If you are interested in an internship (3 months) please ask us about our internship application!

    Facilities:
    Community kitchen
Cob oven for pizzas! (Sunday is pizza night!)
Organic gardens for food production, raspberries and a few fruit trees.
    Greenhouses
    Outdoor HOT shower
    Creekside wood-fired hot tub!
Campers or endless camping sites if you prefer setting up in your own zone
Internet is available but limited to certain hours and we are in cell service range.

We are located in the Columbia Valley that divides the Rocky Mountains from the Columbia Mountains. This is a beautiful place that gets a good mix of sun and precipitation. Many rivers and lakes in the area, including the majestic KinBasket Reservior that stretches 160kms. There are tons of hiking and biking trails, rivers and waterfalls nearby to check out on your days off and you can walk to the river to fish from our property. *You will benefit if you have a CAR to access all that this area has to offer.
