HELP WANTED specifically with general care and maintenance of a funky historic property (currently on the market), wood-cutting, plastering and painting, keeping the kitchen and the cats in order, deep-cleaning... and transforming the lower cantina rooms into a self-contained 'cottage'.

Ciao - sono Clare - I'm a visionary creator from Scotland - with a magical Arthouse in this atmospheric Italian medieval quarter. I Live in Gift under Natural Law, and the Arthouse has a deeply creative, natural and spiritual vibe.

PLEASE NOTE!! My house is now off-grid with I thrive on minimal use of fiat currency. i use a small power bank, which is charged by solar panels, which need to be taken to nearby the house or in the gardens for charging.

**I'm looking for a mature guest: an autonomous and motivated volunteer, who is keen to take initiative, is fit and strong physically, enthusiastic and co-creative mentally, and who would enjoy helping me rearrange the house. It is vital that you are sociable, a really good communicator, and that you are great with clear, professional boundaries!**

Someone with knowledge of DIY/ medieval homes would be preferable.
Absolutely no smokers or heavy drinkers, thank you.
I'd prefer shorter stays, at least initially, rather than over 2 weeks: there may be prospect for staying longer, if there is a profound harmony and co-creative positive force in our working together!

The house is a set of rooms in Guardia's beautiful historical facade; it overlooks a glorious panorama, and has historical details... It's built into the rocks, in the heart of the centro storico, below a bustling market-town (the modern half of Guardia) - it lies in the Sannio valley, in the Benevento region of south Italy. 1.5 hrs from Naples, 2.5 from Rome.

Guardia Sanframondi is a fascinating and traditional wee town, with a significant English-speaking foreigner community (growing still, since multiple house-hunting TV shows have been made here) - there are brilliant general stores, coffee-shop/ bars, friendly and super-helpful folks all around, easy-ish access to the city by bus or a train from the valley below.

It's a VERY laid-back place where good food, wine, connecting face-to-face, and slow living take priority. A brilliant place to learn about traditional and symbiotic community, deep values in living practise, and even finding an affordable property in this still-semi-abandoned medieval quarter.

Let me know your interest - and I'll answer any Qs you might have :-)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Guardia is a fab, evolving hub of cultural exchange: there's a growing international community, and opportunity for interaction with other enthusiastic foreigners. The locals are passionate about welcoming new folk into the town, and I am very well connected here.

I speak fluent Italian, and will always help with translating, or communicating, if I am around - I can also provide basic tutoring in the language as we work, if you wish to learn :-) It is best if you are motivated in learning the language, and that you see the fun in putting yourself out in the community here: there are great connections to be made, as Guardia has a wonderfully open and vivacious energy of communing!

  • Help

    Help

I would love your help with the following:

    - basic maintenance and deep-cleaning, tidying, creating harmony in a relatively-creatively-chaotic home!

    - harvesting and sawing firewood in the cooler months: you must know your way around a saw, or be willing to learn!

    - white-washing walls

    - constructing a wall to separate the two parts of the home

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that guests are aware that the Arthouse is a *natural organic building* - and also that I live under Natural Law. It would be most symbiotic if you comprehend something about sovereignty and living outside of 'the system' - and don't hold expectations or projections about working faster or with more advanced tools!

It would be best if you are open and flexible about what we work on, as I live freely and spontaneously according to what feels like the most enjoyable work each day.

My creative work takes up a significant part of my day: I need quiet and undisturbed time for this - which requires a particularly peace-full harmony with any guests that come: the best fit is someone very self-contained and grounded!

****It would also be more harmonious if you have an intact immune system, and are NOT participating actively in the current medicalisation-of-life.****

The Arthouse is in the heart of the old town/ medieval quarter, and is accessed on foot, and down several sets of steep steps.

I can provide good, basic meals for lunch and evening, and would love support if we take turns to cook and clean up.

I hope to have at least 4-5 hrs per day (free Saturday and Sunday!) of your dedicated work time, in return for food and board.

Your room is a beautiful old chapel, with a very comfortable futon double bed.

There is free city wifi nearby the Arthouse - and up in the town/ bars, also. I use the internet a few doors down the street, sitting on the bench by the fountain, in front of the church. I can be flexible about work times, to accommodate your online hours, if you need.

There is parking down below the Arthouse, a few minutes' walk away. Ask me more about this, as I am not sure what you might need in terms of facilities for a camper.
