Area: Kurtkoy village, Yalova
We are a British couple living at the edge of a forest village in the mountains, 12 km South of Yalova, which is reached by boat from Istanbul. We have started to create an Organic smallholding, and aim to create a sustainable way of living. You are welcome to take part in our work, to experience living in a small village and to join in with what's going on at the time.. It's a beautifully quiet rural area, close to Termal, the geothermal spa, and also remarkably accessible from the city. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 6 chickens; we're a no-smoking household.Area: Midi Pyrenees
NEED SOMEONE TO COME HELP TIDYING AND CLEANING NOW! My husband and I live in a wonderful old farm in the South of France and we are looking for some great helpers for the upcoming months! I am 43 and he's 49 years old and we have 5 children (22, 22, 20, 18 & 12), a cat called Scarlett, 4 chickens, a black lab called Cassy and a border collie called Oreo. My husband, Patrick, is Belgian and loves to cook, and I, Marie, am English and work for a non-profit AIDS organisation. My 12 year old vegetarian German/English daughter lives with us, the rest of the kids come for visits. The farm is in a beautiful rural area between Toulouse and the Pyrenees, very close to Boulogne sur Gesse. For your free time we have an above ground pool, table tennis, table football, Wii, king size trampoline, dvds and cds, books and magazines, badminton, wireless internet and a pc you can use. You can call to most of the world free from our home phone! Within walking distance there is a public outdoor pool, boating lake with fishing, shops and a weekly market. The gorgeous city of Toulouse is just one hour away in one direction and the mountains just one hour south!! Nearest airports are Toulouse-Blagnac, Pau-Pyrenees and Tarbes - Lourdes. We're happy to adapt if you have any dietary restrictions. We're looking for fun people who would be interested in helping for a few weeks starting any time. We need people until the end of summer, so please get in touch asap!. We expect at least 5 hours work per day Mon-Fri as well as some daily household chores (dishwasher, laying/clearing table & similar).Area: Gironde. ( Dordogne boarder)
Our 37 hectare farm & Vineyard is located on the boarder of three departments (Dordogne, Gironde & Lot et Garonne) We have 11 hectares of vines, Merlot, Cab Sav, Cab Franc, Semillon & Muscadelle which are all in the Bordeaux AOC and we are also in the process of restoring an old Farmhouse and Barn. We are currently in the conversion process to run as an Organic farm. We are David & Amanda (early 40s), Florence 7 & Martha 8. We arrived here in February 2010 and its fair to say that there has never been a dull moment since! The rest of the residents consist of two horses, nine hens, six cats and Sam the dog. Accommodation is in a five birth caravan with awning or you can bring your own tent. We can offer workers a variety of experiences here ranging from all aspects of vineyard work, land management, restoration projects, building work, painting, organic and Biodynamic veg production, gardening, poly tunnel growing, managing the horses and even the odd spot of child minding. There is always a project on the go! We welcome singles, couples and groups (maximum of three people at a time) who are non smokers and who want to get stuck into some hard work. In return we will make sure you enjoy yourself, share good food & wine and experience this wonderful place. Check out our workaway feedback.Area: British Columbia
Family-owned guest ranch just four hours north of Vancouver. 100 Horses, Large Heated Pool, Fun staff and regular clientele mostly from Vancouver area. Great opportunity to meet Canadians of your own age as well as making connections with our wonderful guests, most of whom are repeats for many years! Sorry, we have now closed applications for 2013 and are accepting applications for 2014.Area: Veliko Turnovo
We are now looking for workaways that want to come to us in the spring of 2013, from mid/late march onwards. The farm is run by us with our 2 children, located south of Veliko Turnovo, so babysitting duties are always needed. It is run organically and also working along the lines of permaculture, companion planting etc.. There are rabbits, goats, geese, Muscovy ducks, a sheep as well as cats and dogs on the farm. This is the second year on the farm and there is everything to do or improve upon, from maintaining the drive, starting a living hedge, creating a new area around the reed beds, to standard fencing, building raised beds, fixing animal pens, making new ones, even sorting out a small play park for the children. There would be a lot of scope to add your own touches to some jobs, as well as others that would have to be followed exactly. Ideas are more than welcome too. It would best suit those that want some peace and tranquility or a chance to try your hand at a few new skills. This farm is 20km from the nearest town, in a hamlet that is high and isolated. Lifts can be given into the town when we are going. In the town of Elena there are shops and bars, swimming pools and museums, as well as a waterfall, a dam and eco trails, if you go into town during your down time. Due to the extreme heat, most work will be done very early 7.30am and/or after 5pm, on wet days, there will be barns to clear and a lot of splashing about. No alcohol or cigarettes will be provided and we ask that smoking is kept to designated area, purely due to the fire risk it poses on a farm.
