Description
I have recently purchased a small farm in Summerland. There are 2 houses on the property and the smaller old house needs renovating. So I prefer someone who either has construction experience or wants to learn and has energy to do the work. I live within walking distance to stores and services in Summerland and I have a bike for you to use. This is an area of orchards, vineyards and lakes, a beautiful place where people come to holiday or retire. The weather and lakes are awesome.
I enjoy travelling myself and have been to over 20 countries. Now i am inviting travelers here. I am looking for those who are somewhat independent. I can offer bikes to see the area and can provide occasional transportation. There are many wineries for wine tasting tours within biking distance, as well as the Trans Canada Trail for hiking and beautiful lakes. There are a couple of small kayaks for lake paddling as well. The nearby small city of Penticton offers music festivals, beaches, world class rock climbing, and many other recreational options.
Housework and cooking would be shared, I will supply the food. Bringing a pet may be okay, this would have to be discussed ahead of time.Types of help and learning opportunities

Because i have traveled extensively we will have that in common. In addition they will live in a farming community and have access to a town nearby. Come and enjoy this friendly small town community.

Renovating a small house and workshop doing, carpentry, flooring and so on. There is also housework, landscaping, some fencing, yard cleanup, tree removal, painting, gardening,.... you get the picture there is always something to do.
My idea is to somewhat match peoples skill and interests with what is available to be done. :)Languages spoken

Lance knows how to adapt the work with your skills, so it’s always a pleasure to work with him. Between spreading gravels, digging an irrigation trench, removing weeds and shovelling all kinds of stuff, I didn’t had time to be bored during my 5 weeks there. Working hard is really… read more

Lance is a social person who treats and feeds you well.
Had a room for myself, which was great
The work consisted of painting a house, splitting some firewood, cleaning some of his kitchen and we drilled a hole in a concrete foundation.
Nice and straightforward.
After work we would do something social and she enjoyed having new experiences.
I recommend Fabienne and would invite her to return.
We also had fun times like making a winery tour and went to Vancouver to see a Women's World Cup playoff game and it was awesome ! Lance is a great… read more
