We are a little community of 5 persons (2 "childen" actually over 18 : D), 7 funny cats and 2 dogs. We are living together in a little village, in Castagniccia on the beautiful island Corsica at 800m in the mountains, which was abandoned for years. We refill it with life since 1997. We live in old houses, logging camps and caravans.
Our mother tongue is german, but we can welcome you in french (the children without accent) and english (big challenge :)), too.
We ask volonteers to stay ay least three weeks with us.
We are growing our own vegs and fruits (making jam, chutney, soup, sauce...), are making our bread. Most of the time we take meals together, warm meal at noon, seldom with meat or fish.
We are building up fences, repairing houses and huts. And don't forget we are making firewood for winter.
We have a solar shower in summer, a bath tub with fire heating in winter, and we are using compost toilets. Electricity comes a bit from a photovoltaic instalation (just for light, charging computers or phones, and other electronic devices).
We like music, singing and the piano and the guitar will be happy to be used.

Wir sind eine kleine Gemeinschaft von fünf Menschen (davon zwei "Kinder",über 18 ; P), sieben Katzen und zwei Hunden. Wir wohnen zusammen in einem kleinen Dorf auf 800m Höhe in der Castagniccia, auf der wundervollen Insel Corsica. Dieses Dörfchen war für viele Jahre verlassen. Seit 1997 beleben wir die alten Häuser, Holzhütten und Wohnwagen.
Untereinander sprechen wir deutsch, gerne auch französisch (die Kinder akzentfrei) oder englisch.
Wir wünschen uns, dass ihr euch (mindestens) drei Wochen Zeit nehmt, um uns zu besuchen. Meistens wird es erst nach einer Woche richtig schön und es ist schade, wenn es dann schon vorbei ist.
Wir säen, pflanzen und ernten unser eigenes Obst und Gemüse (machen Marmelade, Chutney, Suppe und Soße...), backen unser eigenes Brot. Mittags essen wir alle zusammen und nur sehr selten mit Fleisch oder Fisch.
Wir bauen Zäune, reparieren Häuser und Hütten, und machen Feuerholz für den Winter. Im Sommer benutzen wir eine Solardusche, im Winter eine Badewanne mit Feuer darunter und wir benutzen Kompostklos. Strom kommt von einer kleinen Solaranlage (meistens nur für Licht, zum Computer oder Handys laden, oder andere elektronische Geräte, die nicht viel Strom brauchen).
Wir lieben Musik und singen gerne. Das Klavier und und die Gitarre freuen sich immer, wenn sie bespielt werden...

Nous sommes une petite communauté de 5 personnes (dont 2"enfants" majeurs : b) deux chiens et sept chats, vivant ensemble dans un petit village, en Castagniccia sur l'île de beauté, la Corse, à 800 m en montagne. Ce village a été abandonné pendant de nombreuses années. Nous y habitons depuis 1997. Nous vivons dans de vieilles maisons, maisonnettes en bois, ou dans des caravanes.
Entre nous on parle plutôt allemand, mais on vous acceuillera aussi en francais (les enfants sans accent) et en anglais. Merci de prévoir un séjour de 3 semaines (minimum).
Nous produisons nos propres fruits et légumes (dont nous faisons des confiture, du "chutney", des soupes, des sauces), faisons du pain. La plus part du temps nous mangeons tous ensembles. Le déjeuner chaud, et que rarement avec de la viande ou du poisson.
Nous construisons et réparons des clôtures, des maisons et des maisonnettes. Nous utilisons la douche extérieure en été, et une baignoire, chauffée avec du feu en dessous, l'hiver. De plus nous avons des toilettes sèches. L'électricité arrive de quelques panneaux solaires (juste pour la lumière, charger ordinateur ou portables, et autres appareils ne consommant pas beaucoup d'électricité).
Nous aimons la musique et le chant. En plus, le piano et la guitare seront contents d'être joués...

Help in the house is needed all around the year like washing dishes, cleaning...
Help in the garden, is needed all the year too, excepted in winter when it snows or when it rains, like weeding, preparing earth, planting, harvesting, cooking conserves and jam... Don't forget making apple juice!
With your help we will building, or doing other projects . We have many of them: For example finishing guestrooms in an old house, renowaiting huts... and we are still dreaming of a real bathroom and a potting room.)
Other never ending stories are making firewood and repairing fences. Our next neighbours are pigs, cows and goats which appreciate our gardens not less than ourselves.

Durant toute l'année l'aide dans la maison est la bienvenue, comme faire la vaisselle, faire le ménage...
Dehors aussi les travaux ne manquent pas, sauf si il pleut ou s'il neige, comme préparer la terre, planter, récolter, faire des confitures ou autre en provision pour l'hiver... A ne pas oublier de presser du jus de pomme!
Avec votre aide nous pourrons construire, rénover, ou faire d'autres projets lorsque c'est possible ( Nous en avons beaucoup! Comme par exemple finir ou rénover une maison, ou maisonnette en bois, selon vos centre d'intérêt nous pourrons voir ce que vous savez faire...), nous rêvons d'une vraie salle de bain. Des histoires sans fin, on en trouve: faire du bois pour l'hiver et réparer les clôtures. Nos voisins les plus proches sont des cochons, des vaches et des chèvres qui apprécient notre jardin presque autant que nous!

Workawayer teilen unserem ganz "normalen" Alltag. Das ganze Jahr über gibt es viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten sich zu beteiligen: sei es im Haus ( spülen, Gemüse schnibbeln, Marmelade oder andere Konserven herstellen, putzen, aufräumen) oder im Garten und im Gelände: Beete vorbereiten, Kraut rupfen, Holz spalten und transportieren, Zäune reparieren, pflanzen, ernten, Trockenmauern bauen. Ausserdem gibt es noch so allerlei unvollendete Bauprojekte (Gästezimmer, Holzhütte reparieren) und natürlich Träume, ein Badezimmer und einen Gärtnereinabau unter anderem. Wer körperliche Arbeit nicht scheut, hat eine reiche Auswahl an Tätigkeiten und kann vieles ausprobieren.

We like sharing our very simple life, our beautiful place and our knowledge about self sufficiency with people who like to learn about. We practise also meditation, Chi Gong, "The work" of Byron Katie and other tools for becoming more conscious and living together in a peaceful way.
We are living on the border of civilisation. That means that going shopping is an hour from there by car. There aren't any public transports (1 hour by car away you can take a train or a bus). If you want to come whitout your own car we can take you on the "route nationale" if you ask a few days before.
Around us there are a wonderfull forest for hiking and a little river for swimming, don't be afraid of very cold water!
Beside the house we have a trampolin, a ping pong table, and a slackline. Don't be afraid of rats, mice, bees or spiders!
We appreciate experienced people who like gardening and don't dread working physically, who are openminded for community life and inner growing.

Nous aimons partager notre vie simple, dans un endroit magnifique et notre savoir de vivre en partie autonome, avec des personnes qui voudraient apprendre comment nous y vivons. Nous faisons aussi de la méditation, du Chi Gong,"the work" de Byron Katie et autre pour devenir plus conscient et vivre ensemble en paix.
Nous vivons au bord de la civilisation. Ce qui veut dire que pour faire les courses il faut une heure de route en voiture. Ici il n'y a pas de transports public (sauf à une heure d'ici, il y a une gare ou un bus selon la direction prise en voiture). Si vous voulez venir sans votre propre voiture nous pouvons venir vous chercher à une gare ou sur la route nationale, si vous demandez quelques jours avant.
Aux alentours vous trouverez une forêt, bien pour de petites balades ou pour faire de la randonnée, mais aussi une rivière ou l'on peut se baigner mais n'ayez pas peur de l'eau froide! ( ;.
Pour si divertir un peu nous avons un trampoline, une table de tennis de table, et autre. N'ayez pas peur de rats, souris, araignées, abeilles ou autre insectes!
Nous apprécions si vous aimez le jardinage et si le travail physique ne vous fait pas peur, ainsi que si vous avez l'esprit ouvert pour de nouvelles expériences de la vie en communauté.

Wir geben gerne unsere Erfahrungen mit Selbstversorgung (nicht nur auf der "Gemüseebene", aber gerne auch) und Selbsterfahrung weiter. Um an- und miteinander zu wachsen nutzen wir verschiedene "Werkzeuge", wie Meditation, Chi Gong, The Work von Byron Katie und experimentieren mit unserer Kommunikation, z.B. Gemeinschaftsbildung nach Scott Peck.
Hier, am Rande der "Zuvielisation" ist vieles anders als es die meisten gewohnt sind. So müssen wir z.B. für Einkäufe zwei Stunden Autofahrt einplanen (hin und zurück). Wir versuchen, in solche eine Fahrt mehrere Erledigungen oder Strandbesuche :) zu integrieren. Wenn ihr nicht mit dem eigenen Auto anreist, habt bitte Verständnis dafür, dass wir uns verabreden sollten, wann ein günstiger Termin für eure Ankunft ist. Es gibt keine öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel bis zu uns.
Einmal hier angekommmen, gibt es viel Wald zum wandern, einen Fluss zum baden in sehr kaltem Wasser und im Garten lauschige Sitzplätze zum Kaffee trinken, chillen oder Sterne gucken, mit und ohne Blick aufs Meer. Ein Trampolin, Tischtennis, und ein kleiner Fussballplatz sind auch vorhanden.
Wer sich vor Spinnen, Käfern, Bienen, Mäusen und (Baum-) Ratten gruselt, wird sich vielleicht nicht sehr wohlfühlen....
