    Description

Hello Workawayers, thank you for visiting my host profile, we are located in the midlands of IRELAND, just outside the towns of Kinnegad (2Km,) and Mullingar (20km) in Co. Westmeath.

We are 40 mins from Dublin city by car and 50 mins from Dublin Airport. 1.5hrs from Galway & 1.5hrs Sligo. There is a very good bus service serving the the town of Kinnegad from all areas of the country, including Dublin Airport.

We have a large country house on 0.5 hectacres of landscaped gardens & vegetable gardens ( IT IS NOT A FARM, WE DO NOT KEEP ANIMALS). I am growing our own vegetables and some fruits which we are expanding. We have a few bee hives for own honey and I want to establish a chicken run for own eggs. I need help with maintaining and running the house inside & outside, the gardens & grounds, the hedges and vegetable areas throughout the year.
    ==============================================================================
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE FROM A COUNTRY OUTSIDE OF EUROPE YOU WILL NEED A WORK PERMIT VISA TO COME TO IRELAND AS A WORKAWAYER.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IDEALLY I'M LOOKING FOR MALE HELPERS WHO WISH TO STAY A MINIMUM OF 1 MONTH AND UP TO 3 - 6 MONTHS.

I'M LOOKING FOR HELPERS from now through all 2024. Please have a face picture on your profile.

I am interested in hosting ALL nationalities, especially European citizens like Spanish, Italian, German, Czech & French etc. Please note we cannot accommodate couples.

I CAN ONLY HOST SINGLE MALE HELPERS (Due to accommodation arrangements) WITH SKILLS AND INTEREST IN FITNESS, WELLBEING and HEALTHY LIFESTYLES and CATERING Skills as we like to cook and eat healthy. We have a number of bicycles here and like to go for long bike rides, do some running & walks around the area. We also have a small outdoor gym & boxing training area. I also have Hi-speed internet access and sometimes we play a bit of chess.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I currently have a project, extending the lawns and fruit and vegetables area. We want to build a small Pergola, Gazebo and Dining areas in the gardens. So, we have lots of little tasks and projects to progress which we need basic manual help with.

I am a separated father of 3 sons, all are adults now and living and working independently.

I also have some rooms which I rent on a medium/long-term basis to local workers. If I am away sometimes you will be required to do house sitting at home for a few days and keep everything maintained inside and outside.

2024 will be my 8th year hosting helpers and it is going great, we have hosted over 160 helpers to date. We have had some wonderful volunteers and great experiences with them over the years.

I'm looking forward to hosting again throughout 2024.

    Hoping to hear from you.

    KevinF -Kinnegad - Ireland.

I am very flexible here and feel it is important that Helpers travel and experience the culture of Ireland and all its scenery and beauty. I always encourage helpers to take some days away from here, to travel and visit as many places, attractions and areas of Ireland as possible. I can advise on all the locations around Ireland as I used to work as a National Tours Driver & Guide.

I provide accommodation, basic foods & board with some transport etc. to suitable helpers who can help with the house, gardens and minor projects. We are very flexible but you will usually do an average of 5 hours daily for 5 days per week (9am to 4pm including lunch & breaks). Ideally , individual helpers with experience in housekeeping, gardening, landscaping, handyman and DIY building projects are most suited here.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I will encourage you to make yourself at home here and cook with everyone to experience your foods and customs etc. I want you to especially enjoy your experience here and improve your 'English' language as much as possible while here. The main reason helpers come to Ireland on workaway programs is to improve their english language. Therefore I prefer and always try to have single helpers from different countries where the only common language HERE is English, as much as possible. That way you are guaranteed to improve your english!! For this reason also, I do not to accept couples.

We welcome ALL races, religions, cultures, characters and orientations here. We believe the world is a far better and more interesting place with a rich diversity of people.
