    Description

The property in Rio Grande used to be open as a small but prestigious holistic resort. We sustained much damage from Maria. We have just shut down a bnb to improve everything on the property including water electricity and food production to sustain our needs. Getting the year round garden back in operation is our priority. We are a great fit for travelers who like a month or more in one location. We have plans for a 30 variety year round garden. also need help clearing area for new TEEPEEs we are putting in for Workaways, Come learn off grid, sustainable life style with us.

We have a full-time experienced construction worker who is always happy for help, and to teach. Both Spanish and English is spoken fluently. Please familiarize yourself with the term "Permaculture" If you understand that, you understand us and we would be lucky to have you.

Things to help workaways prepare for your life changing experience here with us.

    1. We do require 5 days a week @ 5HRS. Most WorkAways take SAT and SUN off (not a requirement) its flex schedule.
    2. We expect you done with your morning meals by 9:30am and ready AT your project by 10am
    3. You will take detailed instruction with your team guide. We are growing all our own food.
    4. Arrive by Noon. We want to receive you with open arms and....in the daylight. There are inbound flights throughout the day, please plan your trip to be here by NOON your day of arrival. Getting settled will take the rest of the day.
    5. Do not arrive on a Friday and expect the next 2 days off. you will work a complete cycle before you log in any days off. Tues-Weds best days to arrive and Tuesdays-Wendsdays best day to depart.
    6. Because we can host as many as 20 workaways at a time we can not pick people up from the airport everyday but....We are working on a schedule were we could Drop people off and pick people up at the same time. The more you plan ahead the cheaper your flight will be. The more you plan ahead the chances of us being in the area to pick you up is pretty good. Airport is 40mins away. If you land at the airport DO NOT travel here at night. Get a hotel or hostel. Wait till daylight before you show up.
    7. Meals are wonderful here and provided. You need nothing but your willingness to work the land and grow the food.
    8. Smoking is not permitted in any building or in any common areas.
    9. Enjoying a beer, glass of wine or perhaps a 420 break is ok, Do not come if you have any addictions, we are not a treatment center. We are simply seekers of a holistic lifestyle.

    10. We look forward to long term stays with our workaways. Not everybody is a perfect fit here but we do try and accommodate as many for as long it remains a mutual benefit for all parties.
    11. Speak up for yourself. please be open and ask as many questions as it takes to get comfortable in your new surrounding. This place is hard to walk away from.

We were a full blown bnb in a portion of the farm. We have closed down the bnb side of things to make way for You (A Tribe of energetic travelers) willing to do the work but still take time to enjoy the river or beach. In April we go full workaways. up to 10, so the social exchange here will be the talk to the town. Imagine Yurts, Domes, tents and TeePees all filled with holistic mindsets building and living in harmony. Book early, we have a little room now, but come April the remodel begins. You will be come an Alchemist. You will transform weeds in to vegetables.

You will catch rainwater and figure out how to move it to your crop. You will prepare food and eat from your garden. Come do what makes your heart sing. Come Thrive. We teach OnGrid/Off grid lifestyle. Who's up for building a tree house?

    What else ...

The property features exquisite panoramic views, looking to peak of El Yunque in one direction and the ocean in the other. Many beaches are within a 15 minute drive. Waterfalls are a short drive. The river, said to be one of the cleanest on earth, is a walk from the farm. The caves are among the best in the world. A horse farm is a 2 minute drive/10 minute walk. They offer lessons; have shows for dressage and jumping; and rehabilitate race horses. The phosphorescent bay is in near-by town, Fajardo. Also in Fajardo is a nature preserve. Near-by islands Culebra, Viequez, and Icacos (an uninhabited island) are all a short boat road away, and exquisite for snorkeling and the crystal clear waters. There is also a lively art community in P.R.
