Description
We are an English couple who have been living in Spain for the last 19 years. We have an old cortijo on 2 hectares of land with beautiful views and have a few fruit trees, almonds and olives planted. We have 2 dogs and 3 cats too! We are within easy walking distance of a small market town where you will find shops, bars, restaurants and even a bus station. We love meeting new people, young or old and would also love a hand with a variety of things at our cortijo. If you want to practice your Spanish it's an ideal area and we also have lovely Spanish neighbours!

We have lovely Spanish neighbours and we live in a lovely provincial town which is friendly and keen to welcome strangers. Local expats in the area have set up a number of groups to practice and learn a bit more Spanish and we know they make you welcome to these groups if you want to learn.
Aide
Looking for help with building works, mainly small walls so block laying experience good, gardening (help me get rid of an invading couch grass), painting exterior of house, laying concrete paths. We have a variety of jobs for people but remember that we are located in the south of Spain so you would need to have early morning starts as the heat rises and perhaps come back later in the day when it cools again.
Would also appreciate some help in the house with cooking and cleaning as I am working quite long hours so won't always have time to cook (we are meat eaters) and clean!

We have a largish twin room and a double too with a bathroom to share between the two.
We also have wifi connected if needed.

Our town is called Huercal-Overa and is in the province of Almeria!
We are 25 minutes away from the coast. We do not have a swimming pool but there is a fantastic sports hall with an enormous outdoor swimming pool during the months of July and August and an indoor one too.
We are easy going, flexible and open-minded to almost everything else I believe! We have also travelled quite a bit ourselves over the years.
