VOLUNTEER PLACES AVAILABLE FROM THE 11TH JANUARY 2017

In a beautiful valley just over an hour’s drive from both Sydney and Newcastle, our Yoga Community was initially established as an ashram more than 40 years ago.

There are lots of different areas for you to be involved in as a volunteer. You may be scheduled to work outdoors on our organic farm, in the veggie garden, doing bush regeneration, gardening or grounds and maintenance. Indoor activities may include meal preparation in the kitchen, housekeeping and domestic chores, library support, special projects or helping to prepare for Havan, an ancient yoga fire ceremony.

Our Volunteer arrival day is Wednesday to enable us to give appropriate inductions the following day, and stays are approved for an initial minimum stay of 2 weeks which can be extended up to 6 weeks. The approval of extension will consider your participation in community life.

Our volunteer programme is based on the exchange of your time, energy and commitment for the opportunity to be part of and contribute to our community. Volunteers who have the permission of their shift supervisors are welcome to join up to three regular daily classes.

Please come prepared to make a meaningful contribution, and if English is your second language it is important that your language skills are good enough to be able to have a conversation and understand instructions.

We have a no smoking, no alcohol policy within the grounds.

Our reply to your inquiry will include a link to our website where you can read about our programme and apply.

    PLEASE NOTE CHRISTMAS CLOSURE DETAILS:
We will be closed between 21-28 December 2016 and volunteer arrivals will recommence from the 28 December 2016.

When we reply to your e-mail we will include a link to our website for more information and our on-line application form.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Accommodation is basic but comfortable in 3-4 bed same sex rooms located in a beautiful natural bush setting. It is called the Hill Dorm, because it is located on a hill above the main buildings. It is about a 200 metre walk up bush landscaped stairs and sloping track so traveling light when you come here helps.
