We are a group of people who started a new company in 2012, to create a family friendly camping and accommodation in Northern Iceland. Our goal is to build up a sustainable tourism with both educational element and nature based. In order to make sure that local people can influence and benefit from our development the company is owned by local people and organisations. The facilities are in an old boarding school where we have 3 other groups with activities and we work closely with. The other groups are a Nature centre with a bird exhibition, yoga centre and a culture- and art-centre operated by local women. The place is situated next to a bird and flora reservation and surrounded by high and beautiful mountains in Svarvadardalur.

Area: Berlin

The Park of Study and Reflection is located in the High Fläming Nature Park, an hour's drive southwest of Berlin, in the small idyllic village of Schlamau. Here one encounters a vast forest and meadows, inviting for a nature hike. The Schlamau Park of Study and Reflection is one of 30 such parks that exist in all over the world. They are a place for lingering and meeting, and radiate a new spirituality that rejects all forms of violence and discrimination, appealing to the sacred dimension of the human spirit, seeking to discover freedom and meaning. www.parkschlamau.org We are 30 friends from different countries, who bought this piece of land and this farmhouse. We are financing it from our own pockets and with the help of our friends. There is no any institution, organisation or company sponsoring us. The transformation into a real Park of Study and Reflection goes step by step and all the work we do ourselves is voluntary work. Nobody lives there permanently and the project does not include agriculture or animal husbandry

Area: Lassay-Les-Chateaux, Pays de la Loire

Workaway volunteers needed for 5th May 2013 Come and help us transform our mud patch into a lovely eco-cottage garden, assist with the final finishing works on our character cottage (painting/decorating, carpet fitter, plumbing and or interior design/ upholstery/sewing help urgently required!) - We are trying to finish renovating a cottage and garden to create a safe haven and calm retreat for our high-functioning autistic son and my wife who has the long-term debilitating condition CFS We are looking for help between 5th May and 6th July 2013. We are an English family living in a 1750's traditional French character cottage in lovely Lassay-les-Chateaux. Lassay les Chateaux is a beautiful village in the north of the Mayenne Department of France, with a 15th Century chateau, medieval garden and a beautiful rose garden (over 200 varieties of roses). There are plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to enjoy in this charming old town. A three minute walk from our cottage finds you in the centre of Lassay. We have two children of nearly 6 and nearly 5. Animals are a big part of our life - we have two friendly dogs (Gracie, a King Charles Cavalier and Sasha, a Cotton de Tulear puppy of 7 months), two kittens and 6 chickens in the garden. We also help with rescue kittens and foster them during kitten season for a local animal charity here in France until they can find loving forever homes! We like to eat homemade fresh food and spend lots of time outside. Our interests include home-cooking, nature, organic gardening, photography, culture and travel, walking, animals. The children love arts and crafts, baking, going to the river beach and playground, riding bikes and helping in the garden! We are an easy-going, welcoming family eager to learn about other people's lives and cultures and have fun through this exchange programme and hope to make many friends along the way!

Nestled in the scenic Pine Ridge of Northwestern Nebraska, our 3600 acre working cattle ranch & guest ranch offers the ultimate working ranch vacation ,& horseback riding vacation,  and railroad photography. We offer guests of various experience levels the opportunity to ride and experience ranch life, for a day or a week, on a beautiful, timbered high-country Nebraska working cattle ranch. We are a family of 6 operating this business, my parents, my husband and myself, and our 2 children.

Area: Northern Tuscany. The area has a healthy climate, especially at the height of summer, when a sultry heat hangs over the plain. It offers a variety of tracks to hikers, most maintained by the Italian Alpine Club. It is well-known for a local sheep breed: close encounters with flocks of sheep are very common near the house. Also with horses, goats and cows. Snowfalls start generally in December and can continue until late March, though sporadically. Greenness reaches the tops, at 1.600m above sea level, in the second half of May.

Hi. My name is Paolo. I'm a former musician. I live a back-to-nature life with my dog Tex in the mild, green mountains of northern Tuscany (rather high hills). 25km / 15 miles away from the Mediterranean Sea (visible from here). The house stands on a ridge, 1.200m above sea level, surrounded by pastures and woods as far as the eye can see. It’s a point of reference for individuals who value silence as a precondition for energy recharging, concentration and creativity.
