Description
smallholding of 20000 meters just above the Village of Lanjaron, at 850 meters altitude over the sea level in Las Alpujarras región, near Granada,south Spain.. Adjacent to the cortijo there are two water streams coming down directly from Sierra Nevada mountains, the farm is surrounded by centenary chesnut , olive as well as a variety of fruit trees, from the farm there are beautiful views to the mountains and to the sea where you could even see the African coast on a clear day., Granada is 30km away, tropical cost also about 25km. next to the farm there are many official trecking paths to explore the area.
From the farmhouse You can walk down to the Spa town of Lanjaron by a trecking path, it takes about 20 minutes, Uphill takes a bit longer. By car is about 10 minutes. We are vegetarians, we only provide vegetarian food, if you want to eat meat you would have to make your own arrangements. Our luxury here is the fact of being surrounded by nature, good vegetables, fresh crystaline pure water coming from the mountais as well as fresh clean air.

we need help with building with stone and cob , preparing the clay to mix with straw, doing up stone terraces .Volunteers will also be involved in growing a wide range of fruit and vegetables, general land and building maintainance. All volunteers help with cooking, food preparation, shopping, cleaning and other household tasks.

Accommodation
Currently we only have available a small cottage with dormitory type facility for sleeping , also there is plenty of land to put a tent up. Electrics are by solar power. town library is 20 minutes away with free wify, there are many cafes in town where you can connect. you can load up your mobile smartphone with internet credit for 2Euros per week. WE have a good signal up in the farm.

There is plenty of activities to do in the area, beautiful surroundings, near the land is possible to connect to many official trekking paths which can reach the famous Sierra Nevada. , location is a perfect gateway to nature., the famous multicultural town of Orgiva is nearby at 7kms distance.the University town of Granada which is only 45 minutes by coach or 30 minutes by car. You can also go to to the beach in Motril or Salobrenya , in the tropical cost of Spain which is about 30 Kim's away.

I enjoyed staying a lot at Yamel's house for 3 weeks in Lanjaron. Location was amazing, it's surrounded by spectacular nature. I was able to see not only snow mountain, but also ocean and African continent if weather was very clear.
