    Description

    Hi
We are an easy going couple living in a forestry lifestyle block surrounded by lovely nature close to Nelson lakes National park. We are 15 minutes from Lake Rotoiti and St-Arnaud village, about 1 hour from Nelson and 1.5hrs from Abel Tasman. We are looking for friendly energetic people to help with various jobs depending on what time of the year (fire wood, building and forestry maintenance, gardening, and help our eco life better, eg with water power and a solar update etc.)
We would really like people who like gettng firewood as we have a lot to cut and stack, great for the guys and girls who enjoy physical in nature. We have a log splitter to make it easier. We have a better log splitter since the photos taken. Most of forestry block felled now but still surrounded by lovely native trees amongst others types. Lots of space to go for lovely walks in nature. Chainsaw forestry skills a real bonus but not needed.
We of course have other things apart from firewood to do so happy to have you if you don't,t have forestry skills.
We will exchange for a comfortable bed in a cozy caravan and good home cooking.
As like many people we have a few health issues, so very much appreciate having the help offered to help out and adapt around it.

We have hens, ducks. 2 lovely young cats. Rosey and Olly. A very friendly dog called Fern

You are welcome to come and go to suit your tramping (etc.) that you would like to do in the area. If you have transport that is a bonus, otherwise we can take you to the lakes when needed. Accommodation suits for a couple or 2 singles as have single and double bed in caravan. Also have a lovely pond room with lovely stream noise.
It,s a bit chilly after summer but cosy accomodation if you keen helping out.

    What else ...

Good to have a car, but if not we can pick you up or drop you off from St. Arnaud or Nelson to suit.
Plenty of beautiful tramps available within the area (Nelson lakes National park), such as the scenic ridge track going to Angelus hut, Mount Robert loop and the lake shore track to Whiskey Falls. In winter time, we are also 15 minutes to the entrance of Rainbow ski field.

We live mostly off grid using solar energy (generator back-up at night) and spring fed water. A great way to get away from the hassle of modern life, but can still get to when needed.

Our internet is limited in the way it can be used close to the house to get reception, or a small walk to get easy reception with a view of nature.
