We have an organic coffee and fruit farm nestled in a small valley of mountains located in Costa Rica. The farm has become a haven for animals in need of care and we currently have seven dogs, three pigs, a cat, rabbit and horse on the property. Our interest is in having an individual/s with interest in nature, animals and enjoying the food of the land. We strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prefer caretakers who are the same (no drinkers, smokers or drug users). We are committed to helping animals in need, and won't compromise that commitment by allowing any type of animal product consumption by our guests on the farm. Even though not all our previous volunteers were vegetarian or vegan, they all ate vegan while staying with us. That has held true for tourist guests as well. If you want to learn about the traditions and language of the people from this beautiful region and assist with our farm projects, contact us for more information.Region: Oregon
I am 64 recently divorced living alone on 26 acres of land in the Willamette National Forest. We are on the border of a Three Sisters Wildlife Preserve and 12 miles from the Three Sisters Glaciers on Horse Creek which flows from the glaciers into the McKenzie River. I have traveled to Egypt, Indonesia, Turkey, Peru and Mexico and would like to visit Spain & Italy. I work with Shamanism and have a Shamanic-Buddhist perspective on life. My son lives in Portland and is 32 years old and single ranked 4th in International Championship tournaments as a heavyweight Shaolin Kung-Fu contender. Currently only animals on land besides the wildlife is a 12 year old German Shepherd. We have a retreat for small workshops 18 -25 and also serves the general public with a Cabin, Outdoor Kitchen and Sauna-Bathhouse family gatherings.Region: Andalucia
I have a large cortijo in the Andalusian countryside that I'd like to turn into a yoga/meditation centre among other things. I've had the house since 1974 and it was always used as a family holiday home but now my family are all grown up and the house doesn't get used as much as it deserves. There's 50,000m2 of land to tender and I'd very much like to create a herb garden and veggie patch so we can provide good, home grown food for guests. The house is 9km from the nearest town and is set adjacent to a natural park. The scenery is stunning and there are lots of great walks so would suit a real country lover. There is internet access via satellite but no TV (yet) just lots of books.Region: Luzern/ Zentralschweiz (Lucern)
Hi, we are Toni & Jasmin. I originally come from Germany. Some years ago, we seperately traveled to Australia & met there in a pub. One year later I moved over to Switzerland. And now, 7 years later,Toni runs the dairy farm/ livestock of his father in the vicinity of Lucern. The farm is located ca. 20min out of Lucern city situated on a hill with a beautiful view over lake Sempach & our village. There are some hiking trails around & mountains to climb. In wintertime it takes you about an hour in each direction to go skiing. We are expanding the farm & the house, so it would be great for us to have some help. The work depends on season and projekts. Mainly there is work in and around the house/ garden. Occasionally there is some work in the barn. Yearround there is a agriculture trainee with us and some lovely cats. We both have some activities we do in our freetime. Toni is a fireman & I am riding a horse (not my own horse). I do a lot of dancing & would like to improve in yoga. I am interested in photography. We both like travelling, but it get`s harder & harder to find some time for that. So now we are looking forward to see you around here:-)Region: Berlin
We run a park similar to 30 such parks that exist in all over the world. They are a place for lingering and meeting, and radiate a new spirituality that rejects all forms of violence and discrimination, appealing to the sacred dimension of the human spirit, seeking to discover freedom and meaning. We are 30 friends from different countries, who bought this piece of land and this farmhouse. We are financing it from our own pockets and with the help of our friends. There is no any institution, organisation or company sponsoring us. The transformation into a park of study and reflection goes step by step and all the work we do ourselves is voluntary work.
