    Description

Welcome to the very rural, beautiful Haute Vienne in Nouvelle Aquitaine.
If you are looking for peace, tranquility and beauty it's all here.

Accommodation is a caravan in a barn, so very cool in summer.

From now on I am just offering the caravan with access to lovely shower and toilet in the house here, amenities (washing machine and drier) and basic foodstuffs (see below***) I will take you to town to do your shopping if you do not come in a car. In return, I ask no more than three hours per weekday (15 hours per week) per week but these may vary according to what needs doing.

Tasks include...Looking after the chickens, ducks and pheasants. Looking after the ponds and watering the garden when necessary....Some pruning. Odd jobs.

I speak French but a fairly good knowledge of English is necessary as to avoid confusion

There is the BUDDHIST MONASTERY at Les Bosnages just around the corner (10 minute walk)

The hamlet and buildings were built using Roman/medieval stones and roads (this is an established Roman /archaeological area.

The wonderful Crane migration spectacle here in March and October.

    Non-smokers only please.
    Pick up point is Bellac.

    What else ...

We are rural, but towns and cities are close by. This is a famous tourist area so there is much to see either Walking or by car/train.
Our village of Rancon is 10km from Bellac and 8 from Chateauponsac.
The late Fred Yates the painter had a home here...a prolific painter. We are known for our exhibitions 'Artists of the Gartempe and have three art galleries in our tiny village alone.
just around the corner from us is the Buddhist monastery at Les Bosnages

Nearby Limoges has the following sights to see:
    - The Crypt of Saint Martial, 10th century, including the tomb of the bishop who evangelized the city[8] It was discovered in the 1960s.
    - Remains of the Gallo-Roman amphitheatre, one of the largest in the ancient Gaul.[citation needed]
    - The Gothic Limoges Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Limoges), begun in 1273 and finished only in 1888. It is noted for a fine rood loft built in 1534 and for the partly octagonal bell tower. The main artistic works are a Renaissance rood screen and the tomb of the bishop Jean de Langeac, with sculpted scenes of the Apocalypse.
    - The Chapelle Saint-Aurélien (14th–17th centuries). It includes the relics of St. Aurelian, the second bishop of Limoges, and has medieval statues and Baroque works of art.
    - The church of St-Pierre-du-Queyroix, begun in the 12th century
    - Church of St-Michel-des-Lions, begun in 1364. It houses the relics of St. Martial and has stained-glass windows from the 15th–16th century. The most striking feature is the 65 m-high tower, with a spire surmounted by a big bronze ball.
    - The bridges of Saint Martial (dating from the Roman era) and of St-Etienne (13th century).
