Área: Poitou CharentesI have just retired after a 22 year carear in the British Army and my husband is retired from the French Navy, We bought our house in October 2011, in France and we are slowly starting to renovate. We have roofs to repair, buildings to render and an extension to build! We also have two hectares of land where our horse and ponies, sheep and two collie dogs live. We have started to reclaim our land as the hedge was taking over and was 2-3 metres deep in places and a 40 tree orchard.

Área: Provence Alpes AzurHi there, We need help from hard working, forward thinking, proactive, social individuals who are experienced in at least one of the following ....manual labour, hospitality, gardening, plumbing, electrics, cookery and catering, washing and ironing, etc. Our volunteers are expected to be motivated and work hard 30 hours per week at the Chateau and in return will receive board and lodging in a fun and fabulous setting. The luxury Chateau that is operated by ourselves is 5 kilometres along the coast from the town of le Lavandou which is 35 minutes by car from St Tropez and 40 minutes from Toulon. We are nestled in the village of Cavaliere and are only 900 metres from the beach- reputably some of the best in France (St Clair beach was voted 2012 number 1). This area is one of the least developed coastlines with breathtaking hiking and cycling routes. It is noted to be one of the principle areas for the artists who founded the neo-impressionist movement. The property has been restored by us to it's original splendor having been empty for 20 years. The Chateau is rented out to clients during the summer and we are developing and living in the adjacent buildings in the grounds of the Chateau and in the process of creating an Art Centre amongst other things. Gail is herself an artist and is expert in specialist decorating techniques. There is ample opportunity to practice and learn French within the area. It is our intention to have a minimum of 2 volunteers at any one time and maybe more. Longer terms are also possible depending on performance. If you think you are the type of person that fits the above, is hard working and would like to help with work like this, please get in touch. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOT LIVING IN THE CHATEAU. ACCOMODATION is simple but comfortable with individual bedrooms usually. We look forward to hearing from you. Bye for now Meyrick and Gail
Área: WalesNew exciting project, former intensive, run down dairy farm, now in conversion to a 28 acre, organic, family run small farm. We have started a large veg patch, polytunnel, an orchard and will be planting woodland. We have some small cows, goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits and dog. Our aim is to be self sufficient for meat, veg, fruit and fuel. We are currently mainly busy doing building work, renovating the traditional stone built farmhouse and barns. Situated in a beautiful, quiet, rural location with great walking, short drive from town/coast. Please note that public transport is limited and infrequent. We home educate our 4 children, we are a busy family, we work extremely hard get up early and go to bed early, but we are a warm and friendly bunch who like to have fun too - camp fire cooking, singing and playing card or word games, and watching films are our style. We're looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, outgoing, energetic, polite helpers to come and join in and participate with our family 'good life'. If you are happy, independent , dynamic, keen to help, learn and share we'd be delighted to meet you. If you are shy or very introverted and quiet or lack self motivation we'd rather you apply to another host.
Área: AndaluciaWe are looking for Workaway volunteers from now for 2 months if possible, preferably with DIY skills but this is not essential. At the moment we do not have any help during the summer so please contact us if you are looking to work in a very beautiful area with amazing weather. Our country house is in the Alpujarra Valley, half way between Granada and the coast. We have a 6 bedroom cortijo which we have done quite a bit of work on, sometimes with help from volunteer people. We have been here 6 years and during this time have rescued 12 dogs, 8 of whom are now re-homed. We are hoping to do puppy rescue this year, this is the biggest problem in this area. We have over 100 trees which need to be cared for and from Nov to Feb the almonds and olives need to be picked. We have created a beautiful garden complete with pool, so there's always work to do, watering and tending for everything. We let the main house through the summer to holiday makers which creates more work and, as a retired couple, we find there is too much for us to handle alone. We are looking for a handyman/woman, and are happy to take couples so that they can work together. We are looking for stays of no less than a month and preferably longer. Our volunteers stay in their own studio apartment with bathroom, and share our kitchen. We make lunch and supper for our helpers, and we expect approx 5 hours work per day, 5 days a week. We have been running courses in the last 3 years and hope to create an Arts course here in the autumn. We are semi-retired but are young at heart and need help to continue creating our vision in this wonderful valley.
