Área: British ColumbiaWe are a private, family owned and operated Canadian Warm blood horse training facility. We also farm and ranch and perform all duties related to this occupation on our 1500 hundred acre ranch located in the heart of the eastern rocky mountains of British Colombia, Canada. Each season we search for motivated, mature people who are looking to immerse themselves in our family, our ranching, our horse care and husbandry and generally our lives out here on the very edge of the Canadian wilderness.
Área: TuscanyCasentino Valley in the north-east of Tuscany. 670 mt. ...forest, mountains, meadows, river, nature... We live on the outskirts of a small hamlet at an altitude of 700m in Vallesanta, near Saint Frances of Assisi’s monastery. We are an Italian/ Irish family with three children 19, 12 and 8 years old. It is a beautiful area and in summer the climate is perfect – not too hot but warm enough to swim in the fresh clean water of the rivers nearby (see photos). We do not have an agricultural or holiday farm, but are simply a family who needs a hand to realise our aim to improve the place and to live a simple and natural life based on self-sufficiency. We sell at markets and fairs, exchange work and cooperate with other families in the area – act locally think globally. We have woodland for firewood and chestnuts and one hectare of land around the house for a vegetable garden and orchard. We need help with the various everyday tasks, in the garden, with the wood and with improvements to the house. Our diet is vegetarian and mainly organic. We share the gardening with our neighbours, Italian-German couple and two children, 8 and 11 years old, so meals may be divided between the two families. We speak, obviously, Italian and English, and a little Spanish and our neighbour speaks German.
Área: CaliforniaI am a retired engineer, 73. My wife Fran is in the sixth stage of Alzheimer's (somewhat advanced) with a sweet personality and no signs of anger or frustration. I am looking for an experienced elder caregiver, preferably who has worked with persons with Alzheimer's, to help me care for my 84 year old wife in our home in Folsom, California, for one to six months. I currently get some help from our church members, but we need additional and more consistent help. We seek a non-smoking female of any age who will take care of Fran for five hours a day, five days a week, in exchange for a private room, a bath, and home meals. Duties include helping her with personal hygiene, cooking, and companionship. Good communication skills in English, patience, and references are required. We eat just about anything, and have a gentle and affectionate dog named Bella.
Área: AndaluciaWe do many things :) including; offer low cost accommodation at our yurt Refugio for low cost and concienscious travellers, grow organic food in our small 'huerto' (vegetable garden), grow more at our community garden project; take care of our diverse orchard, progress and develop alternative energy sources and share our experience with those who want to share their gifts with us. In January 2014, we also began a 'vegetable box scheme', delivering local organic fruit and vegetables to various households in the Valley. The scheme is in its early days but the impact is now that we are growing more food than ever :) and need plenty of help in the garden aswell as the small garden. We are hoping that this scheme will develop into some sort of association and/or co-operative, once it builds up some momentum, as we working alongside other local producers in the valley. Ours is an organic smallholding below a Moorish white village in Andalucia within the Valle Genal. It is secluded and wild and has no road access. It takes approx 30mins to walk to the village. There is no use of a car. You need to be willing to live in very basic conditions,be sociable but have self responsibility, use your own initiative, be creative and resourceful and of a happy disposition, walking lightly on our sacred earth:)))) If you are interested please contact me. I can speak English and enough Spanish to communicate with you. At present there is Helen (me), a permanent resident, and Daniel a visiting helper, originally from Germany.Soon to be joined by Giorgio from Italy, a returning helper :)We live communally and share the work, the food and our love of life! Our collective interests include; all things 'Ital', quality food, permaculture, gardening, eco building, alternative energies, wildlife, foraging, yoga, walking, world music(enjoy a little drumming too),sewing, knitting and felting. Helen enjoys raw food as well as cooked, but generally vegetarian unless there is an opportunity to enjoy some locally sourced meat from well cared for animals (diversity is welcome, as is balance). Helen also likes the occasional smoke but generally doesn't drink alcohol or encourage alcohol to be at our place. We are now in our 12th year here and have been slowly developing our ideas and caring for this sacred space. There will be work with the vegetable gardens; the community garden initiative; general maintenance of our earth-bag build;repairs to the alberca and acequia;land maintenance;construction of an eco toilet/shower and help with the vegetable box scheme. We welcome anyone who is motivated, has a positive attitude and who wants to get involved. Please note we only access email once a week so please expect a delay :) Longer stays are possible by arrangement.
