Help Eva at her small place in Bavaria near Munich, Germany
Country: Germany
Description
Feel welcome at a small place, situated between the cities Munich and Augsburg. We have a traditional farmhouse where from time to time trail riders with their horses take a stop for a few days. This brings some rewarding encounters during the summertime. We spend effort to keep the farmhouse in a proper shape as it is one of the last remnants of original old-suevian architecture.
Franz (66) has already retired, he is a talented craftsman and loves to work in the forest and with animals. You can learn a lot from him, e. g. mowing grass with a scythe or building wooden stables. During summertime he normally spends a few weeks helping out at an alp in Switzerland. Anna (61) is a gifted cook and enthusiastic gardener. But both speak next to no English.
Eva's (30) interest is focused on organic farming, nature/wildlife protection and crafts. During the week she works in Munich. she will finish her professional training in beekeeping in summer 2010.
From our village busses run weekdays from 5.00 am until 9.30 pm to Munich. We're more than happy to put you into the car and show you the sights and the nature in this area. Please note that you end up in an area really off the beaten tracks as here is no internet connection, the next internet access is in a village around 10 km from here.
We can only host people with their own voluntary work insurance, at least basic knowledge of German is required.

We have several projects in the pipeline for 2010. Feel free to join us with
- redecorating the younger parts of the farm (a house built in the ugly style of the 1970ies) in the traditional local style.
- fencing
- knock down parts of a wooden stable in order to enlarge the vegetable garden
- shearing the 12 sheep, clean the stables, help in the kitchen (passionate cooks are welcome! :), caring for the young orchard, mowing grass, making apple-juice, haymaking, work with our guests, building, forest work.
- disburden my parents in their lives, which means also to do some dull stuff like cleaning, hovering, weeding and so on. I highly appreciate people who are willing to disburden my mother Anna.
Best time for hosting is March/April till End of October

Accommodation
You can live in the old charming farmhouse unless it is not fully occupied. You also can have a guest room in the - still not so charming - newer house.
What else ...
It is good if you speak at least a bit german or want to learn it as Franz and Anna speak next to no English. Eva speaks a bit English and French and very poor Russian .
