Area: Nijar - Cabo de GataLos Molinos is located in the natural park of the " Cabo de Gata " with a lot of calm, serene and natural beauty with people ( and animals) in tolerance, creativity and openness to learn from each other . The finca Los Bornos , which means turnaround in Spanish, with 17 acres of land , is located near Fernand Perez / Las Negras, and was created in 1996 through the initiative of my deceased mother Paola , which created a goat farm with different animals with little resources and volunteer help. Not only for Paola was this place a turning point in life. Now, after a period of reorientation and the sale of some animals , the main task is currently to work and maintain the garden and grounds with all the creativity workers have. In addition, of course, the existing animals ( chickens, geese, pigs and some cats, dog, sheep , goat and horse ) must be cared for and maintained. In the small garden herbs, salad and vegetables for our consumption are grown. The main garden can be used to for gardening on a bigger scale. Each person is invited to engage for a longer time on a self-reliant project in gardening , work with animals or craft. After a time of at least 4 weeks to get to know each other we decide about this. It happens that people come here first for a short time i.e weeks and then to stay later for a long time i.e. months. The flexible working time of about 5 h / day - 6 days / week with a core-time from 10.00 to 2.00 pm. It is possible , to use overworked time for later in free days, for example with a trip to the area. Las Negras and its beaches are reachable by car in about ¼ hour, and to walk in about 1 hour. Each activity can be guided and learnt, but depending on the arrangement of the volenteer and feeling much is possible. Eating together at 14.00 clock , which is prepared and provided daily , is one of the few fixed points in the daily routine . Here happenings and arrangements can be agreed . The farm produces goat cheese , eggs , herbs and fruit occasionally, for our own consumption and sold or exchanged in the local neighborhood . Furthermore, we exchange a part of our drinking water from private wells and produce with solar and wind our own power . The guest-rooms are very different . There are two "normal" rooms in the main-house. (In one there can live two people). For more adventurous people a small cottage on a secluded cliff is available. Also 1-2 places ( with electricity) for a caravan or tent are next to the farm. To the shared kitchen and compost - toilet ( a water one is under construction) , there is a bathroom with solar- or firewood- hot-water . Car and internet are available . It is important for us to live in harmony with nature and the seasons . The farm is away from civilization near the sea to the mountain cliffs to Las Negras – but near to the small town Campoheromoso ( 10km) and Almeria (60km) logistically well connected . The climate in this area is the most sunny , the months of Feb / Mar can be uncomfortable , but are free of snow . We conclude our work mostly from the twilight and often the small farming community sit together until the night to eat , drink tea or talk in the common room. Should therefore consist of interest - simply log and we'll see fore a arangement.
Area: County MonaghanWe are artists living and working in the beautiful hills of County Monaghan. We are trying to become more self sufficient in expanding the organic vegetable garden ( we live on a four acre site) and have lots of projects planned including creating a forest garden. We also have outbuildings which we are slowly restoring. The help that we need includes clearing, ongoing jobs in the garden, building work, fencing and the list goes on. We are two and a half miles from the nearest town, which is a busy market town and buses go from there.
Area: Malaga Costa del SolHistory: Our place offered a private dining experience in a pueblo setting. Guests enjoy a “themed” evening with a custom designed menu served on a private terrace overlooking the countryside, village and sea. CURRENTLY: We offer a Culinary Vacation Holiday in the Spring and Autumn. We are not a Hostel nor a restaurant. A typical workday here in Spain would be maximum 4-6 hours during a day. Our philosophy is that we give you the scope of the job and you can budget your time to accomplish it. If the work we needs gets done in two weeks but we invited you for 4 weeks, then we would honor the 4 weeks. When we have dinner, you are welcome to join us and if we decide to go out, we will invite you to join as our guest. PLEASE NOTE: There is an availability calendar on this site. Please use it. In the past, we have answered each and every inquiry. If you inquire to come on a date we are not looking for helpers, we will not return your email. We are NOT looking for waiters, cooks or chefs. We are looking for people who are interested working in a rural Spanish village and assist us with preparing for the season. You may assist on occasion prepare a meal but this is not the focus of your work here. We offer private guest quarters, en-suite with separate entrance. The guest quarters is perfect for one person and it is "cozy" for a couple. There is a Swim Spa where you can swim against the current or relax in the Jacuzzi. If you send an inquiry stating that you are looking for work as a waiter or in a hostel, please note that we do not offer this. We do look for volunteers who take the time to read what they will be doing here which includes, painting, patching, working in the garden.

In the same hand i can teach about thai culture, cooking school, and much more. Try to be selfsufficient. Nong khai center is 25 min by cycling. We build the farm 3 years ego, all the materials come from the farm, not more then 20 meters around. The structure of the roof and the wall is in bamboo , insulation is with rice straw. And the plaster in and outside by the soil from the field near, this hous is very eco friendly If you dont like to participate every day in the activities of the farm, you also can come as a guest, for this we ask 100 bath per day for accomodation, the food is not include. Hope the great interesting trip, all the best trees for life team
Area: Asturias (N-Spain)* We have found our reinforcement for February, Workaway really works well - thank you all for reading our profile and thank you volunteers who wrote to us! Asturias is a beautiful part of Northern Spain, great for hiking! We have mountains and the sea is nearby. My house is a foster home for dogs for a small local animal welfare organisation I am a member of, Animales de Oriente. We also have four donkeys, two of them are foster donkeys for the donkey paradise. I live in a farmhouse (2 houses) with 2 ha of land, taking care of a varying population of our own dogs plus dogs to be rehomed from the local shelter (8-10 dogs) The four donkeys are: Yoana, who was born here and Jack from the donkey paradise. Besides there is Romero and Fito, donkeys to be rehomed. There is a lot to be done in and around the house: cleaning (first of all, dog hairs that stick to anything but the dog...), dog walking, scooping the dog pooh, repairs, fencing, the vegetable garden and the other gardens. We usually do cleaning and other jobs in the morning, the afternoon is off (so you could combine it with studying) until late afternoon when the donkeys and dogs are fed and there may be another dog walk. The most important is of course taking care of the dogs and the donkeys - and keeping the fences and the surrounding land in good shape. It would be good if you have a driver's licence -(you can also use the van if you want to), but it is no requirement I do welcome volunteers for longer periods, preferably 4 weeks or even several months. In July and August the situation is a bit different: I will probably be away most of the time and your host will be Bob (my "neighbour"). This means you will be house sitting my house and it means you will have to be quite independent. You can use the van (driving licence is a must in July and August) and I am looking for preferably two volunteers each month so you can keep each other company. If you speak Spanish it would be good, as the other shelter volunteers speak Spanish. Accommodation: In summer, 1-2 volunteers have their own bedroom and mini bathroom in the annex to my house. The main living/kitchen is in my house. The property consists of 2 houses and usually the volunteers use the available bedrooms in the second house (except in summer). They share a bathroom - there is also a kitchen you can use. I always welcome enquiries by e-mail - and I will reply quickly! Volunteers have to like dogs and the outdoor life as the finca is quite remote (1 km from the village, shops 4 km). I am Dutch, and I speak English, Dutch and Spanish. Asturias is in the North of Spain, between Galicia and Cantabria (and then Basque country). This region is called the Costa Verde and as you can imagine it looks more like Scotland or Wales than what most people expect when thinking of Spain. It's an ideal area for hiking, mountain walking (Picos de Europa, Redes, Somiedo), mountain climbing, canoeing and of course we also have beaches (no sun guarantee though). Oviedo is at 30 km and Gijon at 45 km. Of course you can arrange to take a few days off to go hiking in the Picos or walk part of the Camino de Santiago - I am very flexible. You will find stories about the volunteers the blog - I will send you the various links where you can read more! If you want to see more of Asturias while volunteering, you can combine your stay with the Donkey Paradise (23 donkeys, mules, horses, dogs - min stay about a month) or the ecological project Fontebona (off the grid in a wooded area). Volunteering and hosting should be a fun experience, positive for both parties. You are part of the household, and you will be living with the 7 dogs in my living and probably have a new dog to take care of yourself, so being a dog lover is a requirement. Or should I rather say you have to be a little dog crazy. We take turns cooking and the food is mainly vegetarian. It is no problem if you are vegan or need a gluten-free diet. The food is basic, healthy, does not come out of a cardboard box, and is plentiful. Being in Spain we tend to have a glass of wine or beer with our dinner. I try to recycle as much as possible and do not like to throw away food or waste materials. You will get to know the delicious "tortilla de ayer" ;).
