Area: MallorcaModificacion: We need workawayers for 2015! We, two elderly women are living close to nature on a farm near the village of 3000 sqm + 20,000 sqm vacant land around us, there are no immediate neighbors. We keep a few chickens and have dogs and cats. The help we need is composed of many small everyday things that we do not deal alone easily for time and health reasons: help with gardening, go shopping, cleaning, taking care of animals ... We want a woman (or man or couple) with some life experience, flexibility, love to nature and to a simple life. in addition to free accommodation we offer to benefit from our knowledge of medicinal herbs and participate in a painting class. We prefer workawayers who stay at least for 4 weeks and who have not only driver lisence but also driving experience..
Area: OaxacaWe live in a very rugged part of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. There are four main indigenous groups within 20 miles of here.........Mazatec, Nahuatl, Mixtec & Chinatec.....................and for each there are quite a number of dialects. We have been growing mushrooms for over 15 years. We sell oyster mushrooms to the locals, and we also make different formulas with medicinal mushrooms. Originally we grew all the different mushroom varieties in our formulas. However, with Time, and more experience we have begun to make our capsules with products in conjunction with Aloha Medicinals, from Carson City, Nev. USA.........as some of the mushrooms we require for our formulas will not fruit in our climate. Nonetheless, growing mushrooms is somewhat labor intensive, and requires strength within and without. Our oyster mushrooms are quite famous in the region and when they are available sell like hot tamales......oftentimes being sold before we even get to town. We also practice acupuncture and have a steady flow of patients from the surrounding area. Our medicinal mushroom teas featuring reishi, shitake etc. are very complimentary to our acupuncture therapies. We eat fantastic organic food, some grown here, some from the local Indians. And although we occasionally consume meat, it is generally wild such as deer or tepescuintle, or wild boar, we also eat goat soup about once a month or so. We especially are looking for people with mycological experience with live cultures.
Area: Atlantic coast in Pays de la LoireBonjour, we are a well-travelled, anglo/french retired couple (young in spirit and very active) living in an old farmhouse in a rural area just south of Brittany and 10kms from the coast and the river Loire. Our project, which is already well underway, is the renovation of the former commandery of the order of the Maltese Knights and its outhouses, re-establishing a good sized vegetable garden and knocking the paddocks, the fencing and gardens back into shape. We have a dog and a horse and we borrow sheep from the farm next door to help keep the grass under control in the spring. We have 3 children who are grown and studying or travelling but who come home from time to time. We do enjoy trying to improve our workawayers French language and give them the opportunity to discover the beauties of the Pays de Retz and South Brittanny, from Guérande and La Baule to Pornic.

I teach Autocad Software, drawing technical and others subjects. I love nature and is for that reason I am very interested in natural building, because it allows lessen the environmental impact. I don't have master in sustainable architecture or experience in eco- construction but I have researched a lot on internet about alternative construction techniques as earthbag, cob, adobe, earthship, rammed earth, etc, and I find this very interesting and I think is necessary to create an earthbag structure and learn in the construction process. It dome will be used as a shelter in the future. I need to invest myself as an architect and I think that the Bio- Construction is a good way to start to experiment and explore by myself different techniques of auto-construction especially with earth. Is for that reason that I want to create an Earthbag Dome, but I need some volunteers to help me with the construction. Really, I am interested in develop various projects and start to experience with earth building. ABOUT GRANDMOTHER' S FARM:( SEPTEMBER) My grandmother is the property owner.
