We are a small, friendly, working family with 2 dogs living in a quiet, picturesque part of Sydney, 5 minutes walk to the beach. We are non smokers and expect that you are too. The city of Sydney is a 40 minute bus ride away. Mother is a school teacher, husband owns and runs a plumbing business. 25 year old daughter is a fashion designer and 23 year old daughter works in the city and loves and rides horses. We are well travelled and enjoy hosting interesting and helpful guests.

Living in a little (16.000 persons living) town, Balaguer, 150km. far from Barcelona, in an apartment in the town. Pirinees mountains 100km. far. Direct bus from Barcelona to Balaguer at 9 h. and at 16 h. I will pick up you in the bus station. Working in vegetable garden, olives and almonds trees building, recycling different materials to build a little cabane in the farm, work available all year, Harvest Almonds in August/Sept and Olives in November-December. Good vegan food 80% self made production (bread, honey, fruits, greens, nuts,...) and accommodation in apartement is provided for 5-6 hours work at day, or more hours in the weekend for days off, 5 days at week. Free connection to wi-fi internet and free call to fix telephones in Spain Paradise for rock climbers, close to Balaguer, in Sant Llorenç de Montgai and Terradets. Helping at home. Involved in Slow Food association and in the use of medicinal plants against diabetes and cancer, as stevia, kalanchoe. It's possible to organize some contacts with college near my appartement to show the students your experience traveling, the teachers there are very interested to receive foreigners speaking english. Also I have a friend owner of an english school academy interested to contract english mother tongue language teachers for short or long time. Stay for one, two weeks, maximum. Very interested in all languages in the world, I speak catalan, spanish, french, eperanto and english . I can practice langages exchanging conversation in Spanish. We are looking for volunteers to help out on a 10 acre working horse ranch and horse sanctuary. We operate horseback riding adventures in some of lower mainland's finest wilderness parks. In addition to the horse riding we operate Healing Horses Sanctuary - a horse rescue - and have a number of horses in our care on long term disability. We accept two kinds of volunteers: long-term means staying for at least two months and short-term is a minimum 2 week stay. Long-term volunteers can participate in trail guiding, with an excellent potential to becoming a fully trained riding guide. You must have 5 or more years horse riding experience to train as a guide. Assistant guides need 3 or more years. Those with an interest in the travel industry and/or social media can spend the summer working in marketing, office skills and updating our web and blog. Short-term volunteers help with general barn cleaning, driving vehicles (must have a license), grooming and tacking horses, prepping food, doing yard work, and many other smaller jobs! Besides room and food, there are horse riding trips (we try and get you on 1-2 trails per week) and staff excursions. We include you on any personal trips we do including training of horses and help you get out and explore the area. During the off-season we still do ride but not as often! We may have a student program running in the falls season that you can assist with. Volunteers at this time of year also help with office work, fence and building maintenance, blanket repairs, horse training, horse exercising, grooming and general equine health care. Our ranch is located in Maple Ridge BC, about 90 minutes from downtown Vancouver which is accessible by public transportation. Our ranch over looks Golden Ears Mountains. We are a short drive away from several lakes and parks with extensive outdoor activities available including canoeing/kayaking, hiking, cycling, etc. We are a short walk to public ammenities such as Starbucks, McDonalds, grocery shopping and a few minutes bus ride away from central Maple Ridge where you can access the public swimming pool, gym, library, shopping, etc. Experience driving a truck and trailer with an international driving license is a plus to assist with delivering hay and transporting horses. There is some heavy work required. Tasks could include working on fencing and shelters in addition to daily barn chores and horse maintenance. Also, we are in the process of developing a riding program for underprivaleged kids so if you have riding instructor experience this would be a definate asset. Some gardening, cooking and general house maintenace duties may also be required. Generally, anything to run a small ranch. We are very down to earth and easy going. The farm/ranch is a humble operation. We recently rented new facilities that need a lot of love and attention. But most importantly we love our horses, dogs and other animals. They are like family and they get the best of care and love. We welcome you to come and join us and experience the love and friendship of some of the most wonderful horses you will ever encounter.

The trust is in it's infancy but is set up by Isaac to help about 450 kids in 15 villages on the outskirts of Tiruvanamalai. Isaac works as a pharmacist until lunchtime then takes to his bike to visit these villages throughout the week trying hard to provide basic education and care and fostering community development. It's a big task to take on and requires to be tackled systematically. Isaac is getting there with his annual plan/budget and themes of education for each month such as hygiene, environment, history/geography and tree planting but much work needs to be done. I am helping Isaac with this site which is new to him but I cannot honestly think of a more worthy cause and you you get to stay with a fantastically hospitable family in Tiru who will bend over backwards to meet your needs. The project really needs management. Anyone with good heart and imagination and who can't resist the smile of a gorgeous Tamil beauty would really appreciate this experience. Tiru is also a really popular spot for spiritual and not so spiritual seekers alike. The infamous Sri Ramana ashram is at the heart of the tourist bubble - famous for it's full moon pilgrimmages around the Shiva mountain. Loads of chai shops and internet and a great mix of gringo meets mad India:) Really hope some of you give it a go - nothing to lose and everything to gain:)

Come to Central California and Help Impoverished Nations We are a non-profit organization that processes and ships food to poor nations. We need more volunteers to process the food. We are open most of the year, have a variety of jobs and are flexible regarding the length of your stay up to a maximum of 3 weeks. We are located near Sequoia National Park---home of the largest trees on earth! We are also close to Yosemite National Park. The hospitality, food and accommodations are all excellent. This is a great place to stay. Also on weekends it common for our volunteers to plan trips to visit Sequoia or Yosemite, so there is a good chance you may be able to visit a National Park while you volunteer with us.
