    Description

    Hello and Welcome,

We are looking to host in May 2024, june, September, October- May 2025. Minimum 4 week stay . If you are a skilled carpenter we are willing to negotiate a shorter stay and likely a wage for your work.
We would prefer if you message us via WhatsApp - ask us for our number- so that we can have a video chat to answer any questions you might have.

We are Erik(35), Amber (45) and Grace (5), we welcome you to come and explore this amazing place we are blessed to call home. We strive to maintain normalcy and community during this pandemic.
We were so lucky to find this perfect location within the City of Whitehorse, just minutes from downtown and yet has a very rural feel as we are on a dirt road and back onto the river on 1 side and the forest on the other.

We are into hiking, canoeing, "wild crafting" (picking wild plants), fishing, hunting, smoking meat, pottery, art and living the "Yukon lifestyle".

We camp and canoe regularly. With your help around the farm we will have more time to help you explore this beautiful place .
We appreciate positive, independent people and we are open and excited to hear new ideas.
Most of the work is cooking and cleaning and gardening, occasional small construction projects or reading stories with Grace.

  • Help

    Help

Daily help includes: watering, the garden, household cleaning(dishes & sweeping), cooking and various projects such as painting & carpentry. We are grateful if you are independent and observant and have HIGH standards of cleanliness for cleaning the guest house and dishes that we all eat from., we are flexible with the hours you help.. you can help either in the AM or PM and you can usually choose to help all day 1 day and then have the next day off etc. observant.. do the animals need food and water, find the milk in the fridge ;), is the garden dry, you to notice these things .

Having a good work ethic and a positive attitude are greatly appreciated. We will give you many options of tasks based on your skill set... you can certainly tell me you would prefer to do task A instead of take B.This is an urban farm, you MUST have some physical strength( to lift water jugs and garden), you must be okay with the smell of manure and sometimes cleaning animal cages.

It has been mentioned that we don't give much direction. There is truth in this. I will ask you, " what are you good at?"
I don't micro-manage or look over your shoulder constantly to make sure you are doing it correctly....we hope that you are self reliant and will ask for clarification if needed.
