We are still looking for a couple or two friends travelling together in June! Hi! We are a German family of 4 (+ a dog, two cats); Ulli and Alex and our boys Florian (10) and Simon (7). We have been travelling for years and found our place in the Barguillere valley near Foix / Ariege (5 minutes by car or a 30minutes walk from Foix) in the country side. Since almost 6 years we run a cocoa and chocolate business in cooperation with our partners in Ecuador. We are easy people, used to have lots of folks around, the kids are very open to people but do only speak some basic English or words (they are current in French and German) What can you do at our place in 2013? We bought an old farm house in September 2010 and this summer we need to remake the roof and we also would need a hand with inside plastering and painting. Ideally we would like to have helpers from beginning of June until the beginning of August. You could stay the entire time or we could also host different people: three to four weeks in June and 5 weeks in July and beginning of August. We are going on holidays mid July to beginning of August therefore you would be taking care of animals and chocolate and the house. It would be helpful if you could speak some French in case there is need to comunicate with neighbours or so while we are away. We also always have work to do with the chocolate and the packaging in our chocolate workshop. And in jUly we would appreciate some help with cooking and playing with the kids (there are on holiday!) Work hours can be arranged according to personal preferences; but we would expect some 20-25 hours per week. We prefer couples or two friends travelling together. And we expect our "workawayers" to be part of the family which means that we are offering more than just a working place: we always invite you to our leisure time activities as well as to come with us to partys and so on. But this also means that you take part in normal life in the house and includes preparing food or help with housekeeping stuff. We expect people to be able to take on work and tasks independently and to be able to integrate in family life. We do have animals so if you have any allergies, we cannot host you. We also appreciate if you inform us when contacting us if you have a special diet. Sleeping place for all our guests during summer is the first floor of the barn which is annexed to the house. We made it homely with furniture and coloured curtains Hope to hear from you soon Ulli & Alex Salut! Ulli & AlexRegion: Osttirol/ Tirol /Austria

I am Freddie and I live in Mbale in Eastern part of Uganda. I work on Radio and TV here and We have an NGO for Rural Young Farmers Our PROJECT THEME is Food security for all. Background: This project was an initiative of five young farmers in Eastern Uganda in the year 2007.This was after a survey carried out that showed suffering youths who had lost hope in their lives. Uganda being 90% an agricultural country with quite a high level of food production but low food security. That is to say most of the people produce for today consumption and they end up forgetting tomorrow. This has been the major reason for food insecurity with in the rural communities of Uganda. We saw it better to help communities through farming. In this project our major target is towards young people as they are the future generation and the most vulnerable stage in society. The youths with their physical ability are a great weapon that can wipe out hunger in communities in eastern UgandaRegion: Southwest Turkey
