Area: Tuscany

Hello! We are George, Ava and Aron (6 years old). Ava and Aron come from Germany and I (George) come from the UK. I have been maintaining this rural ex-farmhouse in this beautiful national park here in Tuscany since 2006. Together with friends and occasional visiting family members we manage a small veggi garden and take care of the property - Casalino. Soon we will get chickens too. Casalino is in an incredible part of Tuscany which is considered the "Hidden Tuscany'. In contrast to the rolling hills, vine yards and the olive groves of classic Tuscany, here it is much wilder and mountainous and we are surrounded by lush forests. This old farmhouse is situated in an area in the north-east of Tuscany called the Casentino, close to the border of Emilia Romagna, in Italy. The house literally in the middle of the woods and is perched on the side of Mount Montopoli and overlooks the stunning view of the Valle Santa. It lies within the national park of Monte Falterona and Campigna. The many footpaths leading through woods, fields and rivers covering the mountains makes it a pleasure to explore the environment. Being so submersed in wilderness away from civilization, it very much creates a feeling of retreat or escape from day to day ´normal´ life. Reached by an old stone road only accessible on foot and by a 4x4 vehicle. We invite you to come and stay with us between these dates... from end of March to end of June (there could be the possibility to go into end of June/beginning July but we're not sure yet) We are vegetarian.

Area: Sierra de Grazalema

Spanish man (Rafael 36) would like to know new people and share experiences on the farm situated at the foot of the known Sierra de Grazalema (Grazalema Mountains), 5 min. by car from the white town of Villamartin (12.000 inhabitants). Our Dehesa, an autochthon mediterranean meadow dotted with holm oaks, wild olive trees, carob trees…is the home of the cattle of 40 cows of the autochthon Retinto breed, there is a centenary olive grove, and land for agricultural work, all organic. I live in a typical Andalusian Cortijo (farmhouse). I speak good English, have lots of animals, love music and enjoying nature. Works: -Cutting and collecting balls of hay, straw and alfalfa (summer)-To pick olives (October, November), even the wild ones -To plant trees (reforestation of a part of the farm and of the centenary olive grove) -Mantainance of cuttle herd and other animals Languages spoken Spanish, English Accommodation In the farmhouse there is a small separated house with kitchen, dormitory an bathroom all in one. Kitchen is shared. My parents live in another part of the farmhouse. There is the possibility to do long walks between meadows and streams inside and outside of our land. You can do bird watching as there are beautiful and rare birds even coming from Africa. We have mountain bicycles and in the near Natural Park of Sierra de Grazalema you can do trekking, hiking, climbing, paragliding, canoeing…. 80 km from the atlantic sea. MINIMUM STAY: 2 weeks

We are a french couple running a guesthouse in Santa Fe, only a few meters from the beach and not very far from the market as well. As PADI Dive Center we can organisen Discovery diving and other levels. We are fond of snorkeling and scuba diving, my husband is actually a PADI. We like nature, music and books. But we would be more than happy to discover new activities or interests with you. We can offer you a private room with AA and a bathroom, WIFI and free use of the laundry. We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on your working days. You will of course, have acces to the swimming pool and the outdoor kitchen if needed. The work is simple and doesn’t need any specific qualifications : general maintenance of the guesthouse and occasional gardening. Being a handyman/woman could also be a bonus as we have many other projects we would like to work on. We are waiting a baby for january, so if you like kids welcome; We have a peacefull life, like to watch movies, reading books and listening to music. Our village is quite calm so if your searching for party and disco it won't be the good place for you!! Notre maison est située à 50 mètres de la plage et nous avons des kayaks à disposition! Nous proposons à nos hôtes une chambre d'ami avec climatiseur, sallde de bain privée, accès à la piscine, à la cuisine extérieure et au WIFI! Les villes de Puerto La Cruz et de Cumanà sont proches si vous avez soif de grandes cités et il y a des tas d'activités à faire près de chez nous et dans les environs. Nous aimons la tranquilit´2 et partager de bons moments en regardant des films. Nous adorons lire et écouter de la musique. Si vous êtes à la recherche de fiestas et de bruit, passez votre chemin! Depuis quelques mois nous avons ouvert une annexe de club PADI. Si vous êtes intéressés nous pourrons vous faire passer vos niveaux. My name is Pooja, my husband and I founded our school in 2010. I have a masters degree in English Literature and I have taught senior classes for 15 years. My husband is a government servant and we have one daughter, Chakori, who is in grade 10. We live in Dehradun the capital city of Uttarakhand, India On a holiday visit to a remote village of Gharwal hills, I conceived an idea of doing something in the field of education for the rural children. Which brings us to why we are registered with workaway :) We need volunteers :)

We married in 2007...we are about 50 years old and are passionate about organic agriculture. We eat mostly vegetarian food and we don't smoke or drink alcohol. Come and practice your French too!
