We are a husband (Simon) and wife (Michelle) team with 2 recently adopted daughters aged 6 and 8. We have for the past 3 years lived in the beautiful Northwest of Bulgaria - still a unspoilt, rural area. We love this area and how the old and the new still fit together, for example many people´s only form of transport is the horse (or donkey) and cart, whereas their next door neighbours could have a new car. Many people still plough by horse. All this we would have great pleasure in showing you, and we´d hope you would love the area as much as we do. Our outside family has grown since living here and we now have 7 Shetland ponies (soon to be 8 :-)) and 8 horses of ages from 1 year to 27 years, breeds include Andalusian, Gypsy cobs to a TB stallion. Also dogs, cats, a cow, goats, 2 pigs, various chicken, geese and ducks - so you must be an animal lover as they are everywhere :-) We have a busy but relaxed life. Our daughters are very lively and inquisitive, so you must also love children and be tolerant of them. The locals are great, you´ll meet some lovely friendly people who will always make you welcome. Michelle is also fluent in Spanish so could help with that as well. Great area for fishing, hiking, biking, relaxing etc, etc. Due to such a large number of people asking to visit we have to narrow it down a bit .. sorry .. but we'd prefer people to stay for at least 4 weeks - this way they get to know the horses and routine better - and only riders - its ok if its 2 people one an experinced rider the other not.

Living in a little (16.000 persons living) town, Balaguer, 150km. far from Barcelona, in an apartment in the town. Pirinees mountains 100km. far. Direct bus from Barcelona to Balaguer at 9 h. and at 16 h. I will pick up you in the bus station. Working in vegetable garden, olives and almonds trees building, recycling different materials to build a little cabane in the farm, work available all year, Harvest Almonds in August/Sept and Olives in November-December. Good vegan food 80% self made production (bread, honey, fruits, greens, nuts,...) and accommodation in apartement is provided for 5-6 hours work at day, or more hours in the weekend for days off, 5 days at week. Free connection to wi-fi internet and free call to fix telephones in Spain Paradise for rock climbers, close to Balaguer, in Sant Llorenç de Montgai and Terradets. Helping at home. I'm involved in different associations like Slow Food, Esperanto speaker, Servas, about alternative travelling and peace in the world. Involved in Slow Food association and in the use of medicinal plants against diabetes and cancer, as stevia, kalanchoe. It's possible to organize some contacts with college near my appartement to show the students your experience traveling, the teachers there are very interested to receive foreigners speaking english. Also I have a friend owner of an english school academy interested to contract english mother tongue language teachers for short or long time. Stay for one, two weeks, maximum. Very interested in all languages in the world, I speak catalan, spanish, french, eperanto and english . I can practice langages exchanging conversation in Spanish. You will have 2 days free during the week. Welcome everybody!

On 480 acres of beautiful rolling hills, meadows, and forests, our ranch is a oasis for Horse Lovers located close to Tees, Alberta, Canada! We have around 40 amazing horses at our Ranch. I, Alicia, bring outside horses in for training, board horses, find new homes for established horses, have natural horsemanship events and clinics, and a professional horse connection coach. SORRY. NO PLACE AT THIS TIME. I live in a small town 3 kilometers outside of Comillas on the Cantabrian Coast (Bay of Biscay). Comillas is a nice and quiet touristic town, but full of tourists (mainly Spaniards) during Summer beach season. It is 40 minutes from Santander where there is an international airport and port (daily ferries to England). I have a 18 months old german shepherd named Sancho who is sweet but full of energy. I work full time at the University in Comillas, so I will need some help around the house and taking care of Sancho. I have been active host with Coushsurfing for a few years and love it. This time I need a little help and can offer up to one or two weeks accommodation and some Spanish gastronomical fare for one or two people. I can speak Spanish and English so I can help with language practice in Spanish and need to practice some English myself. I am a photographer too but this is just a hobby.

Our main project is the reforestation of 70 acres of severely eroded land. We are working to re-create the Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest indigenous to our area. This forest type is found only in Southern India and Sri Lanka and provides a rare biological richness due to its very high species abundance (over 1000 species of trees, shrubbery and liana). The Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest is now close to total extinction as only 0.01% survives. This is a last moment effort to keep this very rich and beautiful Forest on earth. As part of our reforestation effort we are also working on water conservation and soil management. We practice an eco-friendly way of life including veganism, alternative construction, solar energy, biodegradable toiletries, and compost toilets.
