Arts & Rural Farm Project in Northern Germany
Description
Hello I am Pablo. I am a multi-media assemblage and installation artist and have been living and working in Berlin, Paris and New York for most of the past 10 years. In order to come back down to Earth, I recently acquired a quaint farm in rural NE Germany, located exactly midway between Hamburg and Berlin. Although I am still very active with my artist projects I have become equally as dedicated to renovating and developing my farm. Some of the stables and out buildings have already been converted to artist studios and residences for ongoing international visiting artist programs. We do maintain a small stock of farm animals such as chickens, ducks, rabbits and sheep, with of course the obligatory farm cats to hunt the mice. Additionally there is a working vegetable garden with fruit trees, berry bushes and strawberry patches to tend to.
All volunteers will be integrated into our daily life and be offered the opportunity to participate in and help coordinate all our local, cultural and civic projects here. In addition to volunteers from Workaway, the farm is also home during the summer months to various artists who are participating in any one of our artist residency or artist workshop programs. This combination enables artists and workawayers alike, the chance to make new friends along the way on life's exciting journey.
I myself have spent a number of years living and travelling around Europe and Central America and therefore understand and share the excitement of your decision to embark on such an endeavour as this Workaway project. I look forward to welcoming you to our project and as part of our ever increasing international family.

I spent one week with Pablo and his cats, and it was an awesome time, though it was pretty rainy weather! I tried to made a levelled floor in a small room, hopefully it is still there!
We talked a lot about everything with Pablo, and I really enjoyed those chats, especially about art, but I also liked the stories about Berlin, and the countryside more

We are Ingrid and Júlia from Barcelona. We were helping Pablo during two weeks and we spend there a great adventure. We laughed a lot with him and the other workawayers, we learned a lot, ultimately, that time there was fantastic!
Thank you very much Pablo, we were very happy to met you and we hope that this winter is going to be as warm as not more

Funny, open minded, welcoming. no one could ask for a better host. Pablo, I am proud to be part of your International family!
We spent 3 weeks with Pablo and a number of other workawayers on the farm and had the most amazing time. There was always something to do from working in the vegie patch, to feeding the animals, to construction, building and maintenance projects and playing with the kittens. We also had the privilege of participating in one of the workshops being more
Charlie and I had an incredible time living and working with Pablo. We helped to reconstruct the attic floor in the farm house and had a great time attending the village fete and hosting an art exhibition. We will never forget the fire heated baths under starlight! amazing! Thanks Pablo. Hope you are well!
Fou & Cle are both extremely fun and personable individuals. Both are hard workers and jump in and help out where ever help is needed. Thanks to both of you for all your help and I wish you lots of success in your travels . . . Pablo
We had an awesome time with Pablo. We spent 8 days with a thought povoking artist and left with an education on rural life in Germany and an experience we'll hold dear. From feeding rabbits to small building projects, we always had fun and the vibe was always cool.
