    Description

We are a non-profit organization providing creative workshops for children and adults with all types of special needs. The first of its kind in Cappadocia, it encourages the development of imagination, creativity, and skills through music, art, theatre, handicraft, drama/dance, and sports in a less traditional/institutional environment.

We have students of all ages with physical and mental special needs who attend the academy from traditional government and private rehabilitation centers. They participate in dance, yoga, music, animal therapy, art, play, library, and handicraft workshops. We encourage physical activity in our garden and riding the Academy’s horses.

We are providing all meals and accommodation for volunteers. If we have at least 6 volunteers, they have 2 days off a week. One is on Mondays and the second is on a day decided by the volunteer.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This is a great place to learn about the culture of Cappadocia, Anatolia, Central Turkey... The area Cappadocia is a place which still carries the Anatolian culture. On our land we have locals working from nearby villages, and we help with each others work.
Helping with projects encouraging creative thinking, volunteers are encouraged to be as creative as possible. We work as a team and our brainstorming meetings is a place where all kind of great ideas are shared. This is a place for those who want to gain more experience working with children, boosting their creative ideas and bringing their creative projects to life.

We have a dorm on the farm; breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, we have veg and non-veg food. our fruits and veggies come straight from our organic garden! Please keep in mind that fruits and veggies are avaliable during the season😉 If it is off season, we buy them from the market. For the meals, we are all responsible and it is a team work. In winter time, Cappadocia is very cold and less works compared to summer season. Thus, in summer time more work is needed for farm and animal care.

    What else ...

Our academy is situated in the stunning Görkündere Valley in Cappadocia/Turkey. The lunar landscape and fairy chimney rock formations provide plenty of inspiration.
Our workshops situated in several natural cave rooms on top of which is our organic garden. If you think that you are good at gardening, it would be a pleasure to teach us and the kids for gardening.

For animal lovers we have donkeys, horses, sheeps, dogs, cats, pigeons, chickens and geese living on our land.

On your free time you can go for hikes in the stunning valleys of Cappadocia; if you are an early-bird you can watch the sunrise from the infamous view point of Göreme which is situated just behind our farm...

On your day off you can visit the villages nearby, visit the pottery making workshops in Avanos, or spend time in town, which is a 10 minute walk from our farm.

At the farm we all have our individual work, however we like to keep the team spirit going, so our meal times are our "get together" times, we ask the volunteers to help with simple tasks in the kitchen with help clear up after the meals, and help with simple cleaning tasks. We simply like to see volunteers "feel at home" and would like to have the same response from our volunteers, too... 🙂
    We have internet access.
Smoking is only allowed outside and far away from the kids. Alcohols and drugs are completely forbidden in the academy. No parties are allowed from the people outside. We can do birthday, farewell or welcome parties for the volunteers.
Our academy can host 14 volunteers during the winter time. However, for the summer season, volunteers can also stay in the outside in their tents or in our own tents. Thus, we can host at least 20-25 volunteers during the summer season, which is running from May till September.
