Hello everyone, my name is Cristian and I am the captain at this Hostel. We are in the city of Ancud, on the magical big island of Chiloé.
We work to make the experience of visiting this island the most fun for all.
We hope you can come with us to experience the magic of this place with its people and the beautiful landscapes.
Hola a Todos, mi nombre es Cristian y soy el capitán en el Hostel. Estamos en la ciudad de Ancud, en la mágica isla grande de Chiloé.
Trabajamos para que la experiencia de visitar esta isla sea la más divertida para todos.
Nos encantaría poder recibirlos, además de vivir la experiencia de conocer lo mágico de este lugar con su gente y hermosos paisajes.

You will experience how to live in an island, where the important thing is to know how to take advantage of what the land gives us. Also you can learn its interesting history and traditions. We can learn all of this every day with the people of this place who kindly teaches us their ancestral culture.
Ustedes podrán experimentar la forma de vivir en una isla, donde lo importante es saber aprovechar lo que la tierra nos da y, además, podrán aprender su interesante historia y tradiciones. Todo eso lo aprendemos cada día con la gente de este lugar que amablemente nos enseña su cultura ancestral.
Help
We need friendly volunteers that can help in the reception desk of the hostel and, sometimes, in the different tours around the island.
They can know the island with our tours (trekking, kayaking, "curanto", among others), where we immerse ourselves in the natural Chiloé!
Necesitamos voluntarios amigables, que puedan ayudar en trabajos de recepción en el hostel y, a veces, en los diferentes tours por la isla.
Pueden recorrer la isla con nosotros, a través de nuestros tours (trekking, kayaking, curanto, entre otros), en donde nos sumergimos en el Chiloé natural!

we offer free stay in a bedroom with share bathroom, maybe one day you will have to move to another room. Our volunteers can use all of the common spaces (kitchen, bathrooms, living, dining room, and terrace.
Por trabajar con nosotros, les ofrecemos estadía gratis en habitación con baño compartido, tal vez algún día tendrá que mudarse a otra habitación. Nuestros voluntarios pueden usar todos los espacios comunes del hostel (cocina, baños, living, comedor y terraza).

Pasé dos semanas al y con el capitán, pero quería quedarme más tiempo. El trabajo no es difícil y me gustaba conocer a toda la gente que viene al hostel. Extraño a nuestras noches de choripán en la terraza. Para viajar, Chiloé es un destino único- playas, caminatas y gente simpatíca. Gracias Cristian para una experiencia de Workaway perfecta!

Stefano was a volunteer with us at the hostel for a week. He helped us to cover the shifts, very helpful with the guests and other volunteer. He had the change to help me as a tour guide/translate on our pinguins tour.

I was there for a week, perfect to rest, pinguins tours, easy connection to Castro, very close to the bus terminal and 10min from the city Center.

Best experience of being volunteer until now. Cristian and Ignacio are really patients and easy-going pinche perros ! I stayed with Christian and Nacho for over two weeks and it as definitely a gret experience ! I absolutelly enjoyed my volunteering in the hostel. The work was super easy and relaxed mainly preparing breakfast in the morning. The atmosphere in the hostel is very nice and cozy. I would like to thank Christian and Ignacio for very nice time that I could spend in Ankud.

Gracias por la semana maravillosa, hemos pasado un buen tiempo con muchos alfajores, flamencos desaparecidos, Spätzle, a veces sueño, un contrato de desayuno tarde, algunas movimientos de cama, pancekes con Nutella, y un poquito de locura :) me sentí como en una pequeña familia allá con Cristian, Lucho y huéspedes con buena onda.
