Description
Welcome/Bonjour,
My husband and I live on a small hay farm in Enderby , BC in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. We used to breed Canadian Horses, a rare breed and National horse of Canada, but now we only have a few retired broodmares enjoying their pasture . In my free time , when it is not too hot outside, I enjoy short trail rides on the property and long walks with our 2 border collies. We have 2 saddle horses, the others are retired.
Part of the land is dedicated to cultivation , mainly hay . Dave is also a beekeeper and produces raw honey. The property is very private quiet and remote, with lots of fruit and berries trees, offering private hiking trails and swimming near by. Enderby is 25 minutes from the city of Vernon, there is a bus that can take you there. If you are fine with nature, horses, 2 dogs, hiking and lots of quiet time, you will love our place.
At springtime, we are getting ready for the summer season on the farm. That means that we clean trails,( brush-saw) fix fences,, staining, cleaning the yard, clearing horse pastures from burdocks ( big weed), gardening, pruning trees, staining fences, putting hay bales under storage, etc.
Some tasks can be physically demanding but we always balance the work load so there is easy days as well. In the fall, we need help with last cut of hay, honey extraction ,building projects, yard tasks, splitting wood , etc
We speak English and French , no smoking allowed on the ranch and we are sorry but we can't accommodate workaway with dogs.
We enjoy meeting international travellers and sharing our culture.
