Area: UlsterWe are a young couple, Marcus 31 from Ireland and Julie 27 from Denmark who returned to Ireland last year to settle down. We have moved into an old farmhouse that Marcus renovated five years ago. There is 30 acres of land and forestry where we now have 21 animals (ducks, hens, sheep, pigs, horses, cat and dog) and a veggie garden. Our aim is to become somewhat self-sustainable. We have a lot of future dreams for this place and look at it as a creative, inspiring, fun lifelong project. Marcus: I have a degree in computer programming but worked in management and business development for 5 years. I realized the suit job wasn't for me, so I switched to working in construction. Lately I have taken up the outdoors and I'm in the process of becoming an Outdoor Instructor in kayaking, mountaineering and rock climbing. Julie has a degree in anthropology with a specialization in spirituality, religion and shamanism and has done lots of self-development work especially through meditation and life-coaching. At the moment she is working and saving for a diploma and masters in psychotherapy. We have both travelled a lot of the world and have spent almost as much time away as we have at home for the last 7-10 years. We have now come home to settle and start something of our own and we see workaway as the opportunity to let the travelling come to us through people coming to stay instead of us going away. We love culture, people and being social, fun, animals, nature, hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, rock climbing, music (We have a band and we play in different pubs a few times a month) and most of all we love adventures of all kinds. We are very positive, welcoming, honest and open minded people.
