An established retreat centre offering Yoga and Detox courses in one of the most enchanting regions in Andalucia, surrounded by the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada and only half an hour by car to the Mediterranean. Our farmhouse location is a home-from-home for people who love beauty, yoga, tranquility, and above all, a place to find peace, laughter and simplicity. This is an excellent work exchange opportunity for people with an interest in yoga and who would enjoy listening to our guests, without necessarily needing to be the centre of attention. If you are open-hearted, generous, humourous, grounded and stable and are able to receive and give in equal measure, we'd like to hear from you. Self-motivation and genuine self-confidence is very important, as you will be in daily contact with staff and guests. From November to April there are fewer retreats and this is when we rebuild and upgrade. Opportunities are available for people with skills in carpentry, upholstery, general maintenance, painting, and gardening. April to October: there is an opportunity for 2 Workaway people with specific abilities. Ideally we'd like you to stay for 3 months. One person needs to have a firm grasp of general maintenance (pool cleaning, garden watering system, repairing chairs, hammocks, tipis, electric sockets, a leaky tap or shower, car tires/engine coolant etc. Also some work in the kitchen. This position would usually suit a man with a cheerful character and an interest in people and yoga. The second person's job includes assisting in the kitchen, laying/clearing table, chatting with guests at mealtimes and keeping the house tidy after the cleaner goes home. Also mid-week washing & drying (mostly towels). This position would usually suit a woman with a cheerful character and an interest in people and yoga. We are a British couple ( three grown up chidlren) who live 6 months in France and 6 months in California. Our place in France is in the heart of an absolutely beautiful medieval village approx 4 kms from the Medierranean. We bought the house 3 years ago and we have been renovating the grounds which contain a large old established garden which was very neglected when we bought it. There is always a lot of work to do in the garden and we need help from volunteers with some experience of gardening. There are many lovely beaches within a few kms for swimming and sunbathing.

Area: Nothern Territory

A refuge for orphaned or injured native animals near a National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is the ideal place for rehabilitated Kangaroos to be released back into the wild. On our project these animals are fed and nurtured with great care and dedication. The property is a private piece of Australian bushland, founded the by resident owner on her own initiative. The idea grew out of her love for Kangaroos and other native animals. The property was purchased in 1995. It was a virgin block of native bushland, with no access road from the main highway. An eight kilometre long dirt road had to be established. we have single handedly carved from the bush a wonderful and peaceful way of life.

For lovers of people, music, art, books, food & wine! A backpacker’s hostel with atmosphere, heart & soul! My place began as a dream, a vision; it began on my travels with desires to transform every great building into a hostel. Returning to New Zealand 6 years later, that opportunity awaited me, in a then derelict beautiful Victorian 2 storied house in Oamaru. Now our hostel lives and breathes a life of it's own, we created it, and it has evolved into something far greater and more special than I could have ever imagined. The space is your own, a gift from us to you. Its a creative space, what I now see in my years here is people whom have never thought that they were creative all of a sudden filled up to the rim with a desire to create, people that never played an instrument before learn to play the piano or the guitar and what I love most is that they learn and are inspired by the people around them.

We are a remote Wilderness Lodge located on a privately owned beach inside Kachemak Bay State Park. We have 5 guest cabins and serve wonderful chef-prepared food to the guests and the volunteers. A volunteer would eat well, have a comfortable place to stay, and have opportunities to kayak, hike and fish from the lodge grounds.
