We are a multicultural hostel where people from all around the world can meet. We can also assist travellers to get in contact with local organizations, which will provide the oppourtunity to experience the Bolivian culture in a way that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

We host up volunteers at any one time. When we are running one of our projects we look for volunteers with specific skills.

You will be volunteering for maximum 25 hours per week. We usually host two volunteers at a time in the hostel. We rotate shifts to allow volunteers to vary their free time. We prefer single travelers rather than couples and because it means that there are more checks and balances as well as fewer issues when going out at night or attending other activities.

Basic volunteer duties: help us serve breakfast during the week, clean and maintain the cleanliness of common areas (kitchen and bathrooms), check in new guests, water the plants, take out and turn the compost pile, do laundry as necessary (don't worry, we have a washing machine!), make beds, and open the door for guests at night. Besides the breakfast, the other chores can be accomplished in as little as one hour, after which volunteers can go out or do whatever they please until the night shift begins. When we have activities, we ask that our volunteers help us to clean up after them and so on.

    What else ...

We are looking for volunteers who can stay for two weeks minimum (and generally give preference to those who can stay for a month or so and who are looking more for a home than a roof over their heads).
We opened at the end of January 2013 and are still trying to figure things out and balance our time with the activities or programs. Therefore, what we need is someone who is flexible, helpful, and able to manage the hostel as well as contribute in whichever way they can to our programes.
We are looking for volunteers who are motivated and excited about this project, and we are always excited to see what each new volunteer brings. Every new perspective is invaluable to the essence of who we are and what we do.

In exchange, you'll be able to live in our awesome house with awesome people (we are not a party hostel, so we attract people wanting to learn Spanish and get to know Bolivia), get to have our free wholesome breakfasts (which we've become quite famous for), and be part of our project and family.

Please read the volunteer responsibilities before contacting us.
We're very busy and short-staffed, so emails that either ask questions that are answered here or are obviously generalized, mass emails will not be responded to. Also, we take all inquiries seriously and update our calendar as soon as we receive confirmations from our volunteers, so please keep this in mind before sending us a message.
