    ENG:

Our biological reserve is located 1hour from Santa Marta and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Tayrona Park in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The Reserve covers an area of 30 hectares of protected forest. We are a successful reforestation project and now we dont need to reforest anymore but work on preservation, conservation, sustainability and tourism.
We are also a lodge with restaurant. Here you can find parrots, caimans, turtles and fish from the amazonas, including the huge arapaima. For recreation we have a river, hikes, meditation areas etc

    ESP:

The reserve offers a lot of information and a good working experience in tropical nature. If you wish to learn something, you are always welcome to ask. Depending on the time of the stay, the responsibilities will be more and also the knowledge. Here you will interact most of the times with locals.

We are looking at the moment for:

    - Yoga
We are looking for a volunteer who can help us for a season with the Yoga and meditation classes on site.

    - Garden and maintenance
Here you will help us with our plant nursery, helping us with our plant collections, maintaining the garden and keeping the reserve suited for visitors walking through it.

    - wood work.
These tasks are the main ones we need at the moment, but we like to mix those with other tasks in the reserve, like gardening, English teaching, maintenance, a bit of construction, etc… whatever is needed during the day.

    - Hospitality
Sometimes give a hand to our staff by translating what the guest needs (not all speak english). Also helping them with english lessons. Helping wherever the work is necessary. No worries! you will not be cleaning toilets or helping in a kitchen!!!

    - If you like painting murals, please let us know =)

    Accommodation

At the moment we have a shared room for volunteers with a shared bathroom located outside. They use a volunteer kitchen.

Depending on the lenght of the saty and if you are a couple or a single traveller, we have different options for staying. Please be aware that during the rainy season it is a bit humid, as it is the jungle.

    What else ...

Within the Reserve there are some ancient Tayrona trails and a river where you can swim and relax.
Around the reserve there are many waterfalls and also the opportunity to discover more trails and terraces.
The Reserve can be reached by foot from Minca walking 5 hours.

It is very important to have BASIC SPANISH understanding because the tasks in the reserve are going to be guided by a person who does not speak any english.

Also important is that the volunteer travels with health insurance.

We supply rice, beans, salt sugar and oil. We recommend the volunteer to bring the food for a week (like vegetables, fruits, eggs, animal protein, etc that the volunteer usually eats). There are options to bring food up without having to go to the city, so no worries. We have a kitchen that has all the necessities for the volunteers to cook.

We kindly appreciate you commit to the time you are planing in coming.
