Description
Update March 2024:
We are ideally looking for...
• 24+
• one person OR a couple / two friends willing to share accommodation
• able to stay for at least one month (ideally looking for someone to stay until July- or longer for the right fit)
• have their own vehicle OR happy to be independent in their off time. Transit is limited, but does exist here. There's a bike you can use. The galloping goose trail is nearby, and takes you to both Victoria & Sooke.
• are able to work independently and enjoy spending time outdoors in the gardens (there is a lot of weeding to do around here!)
• comfortable with ground maintenance tasks (tidying, weeding, trimming, composting, grass cutting, etc.) and getting involved in whichever projects we have on the go at the moment.
Hi!
We are a vibrant family of four adults and four young adults aged 21-25 - two boys and two girls. We have dogs, cats, and a 100 year old house which always seems to be a natural gathering place. Our property is a seven acre, sunny slice of heaven in Metchosin BC, just 30 minutes west of Victoria. Enjoy a morning coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean and mountains. Nearby are some of the best beaches and hikes on the south island. We operate a small hobby farm and we would love to host someone with a variety of skills, and an eagerness to jump in on any project!Types of help and learning opportunities

Our current project is to finish up the new workaway suite-- perhaps you can jump in & help us finish it when you arrive!
In the meantime, there are plenty of places for you to stay depending on what's on the go at the time. Enjoy the cabin amongst the garry oaks. The loft bedroom in the barn suite. Or one of the spacious bedrooms in our home-- stunning views guaranteed! What else ...
Public transit exists but can be a challenge in this neighbourhood, so having your own car is definitely an advantage. We are close to The Galloping Goose - a walk/bike path which takes you into town. It's about 1.25 hrs by bike to downtown Victoria. A 1 hr drive northwest takes you past Sooke and onto a rugged part of Vancouver Island's coast. There are several good beaches out there as well as access to the Juan de Fuca Trail.
