Area: OntarioWe are two long time friends who share common goals and desires for a simpler life, living on a fifty acre farmstead located between Ottawa and Montreal. We are in the process of restoring an old farm, reviving pastures and fields, and working towards self sufficiency. We grow fruit & vegetables, and raise Shetland sheep for wool and meat. We also raise chickens for eggs and meat. We use the wool from the sheep to make some of our products that we sell, such as felt hats, toques, mittens, sweaters, and more. We have been welcoming Canadian and international travelers through various programs for over 15 years, and have had some wonderful times, and developped lasting friendships along the way. We truly enjoy sharing our lives and our love for the homesteading arts and are grateful for the benefits these opportunities bring as well as committed to working through some of the challenges that crop up as strangers become friends. Skills and experience are not as important to us as a wilingness to learn and a keen interest in taking an active part in our lives, in what we do, and supporting our goals. Some of what we do is gardening, weeding, preserving food, preparing and smoking meats and sausages, canning, drying and pickling (in season). Making sweet apple cider from our many varieties of apple trees.
Area: SelangorMy household only consist of two people. We live in a small condominium in the suburb of Kuala Lumpur. As an avid traveller myself, I enjoy meeting people from different cultures. I am not a smoker and also not a vegetarian. My home is cosy and truly a place to relax when you are not working. There is a gym and swimming pool in the condominium complex which you can use. The nearest bus station is only 5 minutes walk away. The bus will bring you straight to downtown Kuala Lumpur. Your minimum stay should be 3 days. I was born and bred in Kuala Lumpur and very familiar with the city. I have also spent many years outside Malaysia for my tertiary studies and professional career. I can offer advice on what to eat, see and do locally.

Area: ScotlandMy husband and I are retired dentists and we live on a small farm in a very beautiful area. We have a few rare breed sheep and about 10acres of land. We also have a horse and a dog. We have recently moved into our newly built house which is down by the lochside (Loch Awe). We live two miles from Kilchrenan which is a small village that is home to multiple workaway-hosts. Kilchrenan is visited frequently by tourists because of the great leisure activities in the area such as walking, climbing, cycling and fishing.
Area: Saskatchewan CanadaLocated near the beautiful Moose Mountains in southeast Saskatchewan we operate a small scale, grass based livestock farm on native prairie. Our farm offers a wonderful opportunity to explore our tree filled ravines and discover evidence of life in Saskatchewan before European settlers, such as First Nations teepee rings and buffalo rub stones. We are trying to live a self sustaining life so our farm is constantly evolving. We have a variety of animals such as meat and egg chickens, turkeys, geese, pigs, beef cows and Jersey milk cows. All animals live on pasture and are regularly moved to fresh grass. Jobs range from feeding and moving animals to milking cows, yard and garden work and even childcare for our two young daughters. There is work for people of all skill levels. We are experienced travelers and understand what it is like to be in a new land. We love meeting people and sharing in their customs. Warren can speak basic Spanish. Welcome!
