Area: EnglandMy name is Laura and my family and I live in a rural small holding between the historic towns of Falmouth and Helston on the beautiful west coast of Cornwall. Our five bedroom, three bathroom house stands in its own grounds with farms either side of us. Some of our leisure time is spent gig rowing on the waters of the Helford River. Our children are involved in our local surf lifesaving club and enjoy surfing on the south coast. We very much enjoy the outdoor lifestyle Cornwall has to offer and have lived here for the past 17 years renovating our farmhouse, but still have much to do. We have chickens year round, as well as pigs at certain times of the year. Our local village Constantine has a very active community arts centre, where I often volunteer. James spends part of every week working elsewhere in the UK or in Europe. I work for the NHS in Childrens' Community Services. We have three teenagers, one of which is away at University. As a family we're all willing to improve on our languages but do only speak English fluently.
Area: OntarioWe have an 80 acre hobby farm where we do cash crops - corn and hay. We also have 3 horses and a few chickens. My husband Chris and I live here with our 2 children (20 and 23) who are attending University and would love to show you around if you come. We are about 25 minutes outside the city of Ottawa and there are buses not too far away. If you would like to come help us we can provide private accommodation and food for volunteering 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Area: AquitaineSpring 2014: we are in the finishing stages of our build and preparing to soon move in. We are looking to host someone in the spring to help with finishing details, carpentry, dry stone wall, preparing gardens, landwork (strimming), terracing, roofing on a cabin, yurt maintenance, etc. We are a French-American family with two little ones, building our eco-home in the Dordogne countryside. Kevin is French, a carpenter and green builder (as well as a translator), Elizabeth is American and a full-time mama and formerly a psychotherapist in California. We have a delightful 6 year old boy and 3 year old girl. We are very interested in sustainable living and growing, permaculture, meditation and community. And you! Always welcome: volunteers with building skills, especially skills in carpentry, wood-working, plastering, electricity, plumbing, etc!
