Family of three, mother and two sons. We live in a rural setting, close to Letterkenny and Derry surrounded by farmland and close to Lough Swilly. We have a large garden and plenty of room to host. You would have your own room and ideally blend into our fairly simple lifestyle.
As i said we are a family of three, ! am 46, and my sons are 10 and 8 years, they live here most of the time but spend every other weekends with their dad.
Interaction and good communication skills with kids would be an advantage.
We have 2 cats so if your allergic it wouldn't work out and they have the run of the house also.
I spent most of last year and so far this one too completing the renovations and extention to my home, so there are still little jobs to get done.
I am an easy going very stable type of person, what you see is what you get, and i enjoy meeting new people. I have travelled some and lived in other countries also .so fairly wordly.
If you are looking for somewhere to hang out for a while in a fresh and interesting location and have a good attitude towards work and communication then i think we should appeal.
I trained as a ceramacist and was successfull with my own work, selling to stores all over ireland and USA, i put it on hold when i had my second son but now i am looking to get back to it.
I have a studio at the back of my house why i plan to extend, so hopefully i will have a fully equiped ceramic studio on site also before the end of 2011.
I am currently studying spanish and would like very much to develope my language skill, i can read spanish better than i can speak it, having someone to practice with eso seria fantastico.!!Language exchange is one of my main attractions for hosting.

The work that i most seek help with is in the garden, and language exchange. I have a large garden and now i would like to develope it to become more productive and enjoyable.
I am ideally looking for someone who can work on their own [self motivated]and can see work that needs doing, light housework is included as when you join us you hopefully will recognise that sharing basic responsabilities is part of the experience.
I am an early starter so waiting for someone to get out of bed to start work can be frustrating and does not breed a good working relationship...in my view anyways.
Anyone who wants to visit must be interested in getting to know us as a family, and not expect to be waited on...i am a good cook but would like to see visitors contibute some to daily evening meals at least once during their stay.
I am planning to rebuild some sheds and turn them into my ceramic studio and gallery, looking of labourer, or someone with building skills.
I am putting the finishing touches to my home after major renovations, so looking for help with that also, painting, carpentry etc.
I am also currently studying Spanish and ideally would like visits from peolple who speak spanish so I can practice and improve my language skill.

English, Irish and Spanish

Our home is a 100year+ cottage that has recently been renovated and extented. You would have your own room and enjoy the whole house with us, Two livinging areas, large kitchen, shared bathroom etc.

LONGER STAYS.....i am intially only open to offering a couple of weeks accomadation, but if we get along and whoever visits settles in nicely and we are all happy... then an extended stay could be considered if the work is there..otherwise i would expect visitors to make a contribution to the daily living costs..ie. food, cooking etc.
I cannot afford to provide free accomadation without an exchange of some work around the house. If there isnt enough work to do..ie the 5 hour exchange then i would expect people to provide for themselves.
