Beautiful Villa close to splendid beaches and fantastic archaeological sites
Area: Montana
Hi, our names are Andrew and Hilary. We are a young family with two children, our son age 4 and our daughter age 1 and are looking for a fun, easy going, responsible girl to help us care for our children this summer. We live and ranch in Centennial Valley, Montana. We raise all natural grass finished beef cattle, train horses and enjoy the wide open spaces. The ranch encompasses 30,000+ acres of mountainous terrain with a river winding through. We border the Red Rocks National Wildlife Refuge and are only 40 miles from Yellowstone National Park. We are a working ranch focused on holistic resource management. We run close to 2000 cattle and 40 horses. We also have a ranch guest program which allows people from around the country and the world to come visit and participate in ranch activities, learn about range land management, low stress stockmanship, natural horsemanship and wildlife ecology. Our house is very small but cozy but we make up for the space we lack indoors with 30,000 acres to run wild in outdoors. We also have three working dogs, two cats and lots of chickens (and sometimes a new baby calf or two that needs help getting started in life). We would love to share our life and our home and our experience with anyone who is interested in learning more about ranching, wildlife, child care and experiencing a way of life that is closely tied to the land.Area: Midi Pyrenees
I am currently restoring an old french farmhouse using the same materials it was built with and making the materials by hand whenever possible. The house is on five acres, mostly pasture, some oak woods. There is a tumulus, an ancient burial mound, on the land from which there are fantastic views of the Pyrenees mountains and Spain. There are two organic vegetable gardens and a young orchard. I also do bronze casting. It is a very quiet and peaceful spot and the yurt, see accommodation below, is a great place to relax. From here it is possible to spend the day swimming in the Mediterranean or surfing in the Atlantic or hiking or skiing in the Pyrenees. In the area there are pre-historic caves, roman ruins and various medieval fortresses to visit.Area: British Columbia
We are a little family of 3 (Oliver, 30, Meike, 35, and Emil, 2) who are seeking connection to the land and community. We value sustainability and want to live a satisfying, healthy and creative life. We have just bought a piece of property with the intent of starting an organic farm and forming an ecovillage. We would like to invite like-minded people in our age group (20-40ish) to inquire, help out, learn and perhaps join and create a wonderful interdependent community with us. We are located only minutes north of Greenwood and only an hour from Osoyoos. 142 acres with Jewel Creek running through it. It has crown land on 3 sides and trails all around. Less than 2 km to Jewel Lake. This summer we are focusing on establishing our homestead to prepare for the winter. We are renovating a log house, one of the few buildings that are already on the land. We are planning to eventually build a cluster of natural homes designed to minimize ecological disturbance and maximize use of the fertile, previously cleared areas for organic farming and gardening. We will use building material sourced from our land as much as possible. We are big fans of cob buildings and round houses. We will produce our own power by setting up solar and hydro systems so we hope to get off grid quite quickly. Grey water will be treated naturally and used for irrigation. Composting toilets will provide humanure for some gardens and plants. We want to consume food that is produced locally, ideally on our own farm, but always sustainably. Our organic farm will supply residents and visitors with fresh, organic food; surplus can be sold on local farmer's markets (twice a week in Greenwood) and to restaurants in the area. We will build root cellars to store fruits and veggies for the winter. We are going to incorporate Permaculture principles: zoning, swales, terraces, composting, humanure, mulching, rainwater catchment, hugelkultur, just to name a few. Some of us have experience with biodynamic gardening. We look forward to meeting many cool people and are excited about what we can accomplish!Area: Pacific coast
Our project is a beautiful Peruvian Pacific coast ecological, artistic community founded on Vaisnava principles, strategically located on a beach, in the district of Aucallama, in the province of Huaral, one hour by bus or car (63 km) north of the capital city, Lima. We live together according to principles of non-violence, simple living and elevated thinking, and visitors can learn and experience how it is possible to live happily in harmony with nature, others, and themselves. We are looking for people that are basically open-minded and want to practice tolerance, compassion and patience.Area: North Rhine Westphalia
Our family: thats me - Maria- and Emma (12), Frieda (10) an Hannes (8). We live close to the city-centre of Essen- and in the middle of the heart of the so called "Ruhrgebiet"- lot´s of cities around, lots of cultural events and probably the most open minded people in germany. I have an institut (I´m training social workers in case management and Community Organising) and work a lot in the house (where we also live).
