Hi there,
We are a young (well... 40 's ;-) family hidden in the valleys of the Limousin with a permaculture nursery and fully engaged in a permaculture designed farm for our own food and to establish a rich and biodiverse environment. We've created a buzz on the French, Belgian and Swiss market thanks to our hard work and knowhow.
We are specifically looking for people who'd love to spend an intense short period during spring or summer to make us win time with simple tasks as watering, looking after the animals, harvesting and taking care of our concept of mixed fruit hedges where fruit trees, fruit bushes, spices and perennial vegetables grow together in a very efficient lining with the purpose of minimal maintenance and maximum diversity.
Creative souls can create insect hotels, nesting houses for birds and chicken trains for chickens and rabbits, help with our 2 children, cook nice meals with vegetables straight from the garden..
We are really searching for maximum 2 volunteers with a specific interest in permaculture and country living. We’ve got plenty of spaces to settle a tent or camping car and have a dry toilet and kitchenette available. We sometimes share meals or we sometimes ask you to cook for yourself with the ingredients you wish.
The countryside here is unique because there are only 9 inhabitants per square kilometer. You can walk a whole day without crossing a single soul or maybe a wild animal. For some we are lost in the wild, for other we have the most beautifull life possible. Just be conscient you come to the REAL profound countryside where real water pops out of the rocks and 35meter high oaks keep an eye on us.
Hope the winds bring you here where trees sing and birds colour the sky.
Love Kate, Walt, Maya and Bo

Bonjour,

Was noch ...
A historically rich and traditionally rural rather lightly populated area with beautiful preserved landscapes, ancient and typical art de vivre, original stone architecture, no major urban center and many heritage site such as castles, abbeys and Celtic stone monuments: the Creuse department has become a Green tourism destination since the late 1990s.
Creuse enjoyed a temperate climate with mild springs and autumns, rather cold and snowy but sunny winters, and relatively warm and sunny summers, but not as hot as in the southern parts of France. Thanks to its preserved forested landscape, little pollution and wonderful stone buildings, many foreigners (notably British and Dutch, but also German and Belgian) have sought to buy holiday homes in Creuse.
The major tourist attractions are the tapestry museum in Aubusson and the many castles, notably those of Villemonteix, Boussac, and Banizette. The monastery of Moutier-d'Ahun has exceptional wood carvings from the 17th century. (fr:Abbaye de Moutier-d'Ahun). After World War 1, some towns in France set up pacifist war memorials. Instead of commemorating the glorious dead, these memorials denounce war with figures of grieving widows and children rather than soldiers. Such memorials provoked anger among veterans and the military in general. The most famous is at Gentioux-Pigerolles in the department (see picture on the left). Below the column which lists the name of the fallen, stands an orphan in bronze pointing to an inscription ‘Maudite soit la guerre’ (Cursed be war). Feelings ran so high that the memorial was not officially inaugurated until 1990 and soldiers at the nearby army camp were under orders to turn their heads when they walked past.
Guéret, Creuse is also home to a large nearby animal park named Les Loups de Chabrières containing some of France's few remaining wolves, held in semi-captivity.
We've got a nice lake to swim @ 1 km from our house.Etwas mehr Information
