Area: EnglandDoggie Training and general help required in small, friendly household, West Yorkshire. We are a family of four, I Monika, my partner Pete and our two doggies "babies" Alfie and Millie! We discovered workaway through my Son and his friend who spent a year touring the world volunteering with the workaway scheme having a fabulous time so ,after hearing their adventures we decided it would be ideal for us to sign up as hosts ourselves. We are easy going, relaxed, down to earth folk who like nothing more than to socialize with interesting people. We would like to open our doors to workawayers not just for help with our "babies" and in the home, but also to take part in a cultural exchange and to meet new people. We both work full time, on a shift basis, so we need volunteers who are motivated and who can work under their own initiative. Like most households there is not a lot to be done here, but there is always the daily activities of cleaning, dog walking and preparing evening meals, but we are receptive to new ideas and will try to adapt tasks to your individual skills.

Area: South EastI run a very small B&B during the summers with only 2 rooms in this lovely seaside resort. We are 500m away from the sea, wonderful woodlands and 20/30 minutes away from 2 towns with all amenities. I am a single lady of 60 who needs some help in the garden with strimming of bushes and higher grass. Improving the irrigation system in the lower garden. Cutting trees, digging out a fence and re-digging the raspberry plot. I will also need some help with painting and maintenance of the house. I have to put in a dehumidifying system in the basement this spring, involving a small amount of bricklaying and installing a dehumidifier. I'm able to do the specific tasks myself but there are not enough hours in a day, so I would love some help. In exchange I offer you, your own room, breakfast and dinner I'm a good cook. For lunch you can cook, have some left overs or some sandwiches. I will of course make it possible for you to see as much as possible of the area and integrate with the community. We do live in a lovely area, with tennis courts, golf courses and sailing facilities at the doorstep. Sports hall for exercise classes and badminton. Lovely sand beaches along the whole island and amazing nature. Wonderful woodlands for runs, biking, horse back riding and mushroom picking.
Area: Salto de las Rosas - Near San Rafael - Mendoza provinceWe are a family of 3. Him an American, her a Brit and our sociable and friendly 14 year old daughter. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs. One of the dogs is a huge Rottweiler but he is very very friendly, old and slow, so don't be put off by his size. Don't worry if you are allergic to animals. Our volunteer accommodation is a completely separate house, so you do not have to live in an environment where you will be exposed to animal fur. We are all (with the exception of one of the cats) very friendly, sociable and flexible in our outlook to life. We have been hosting volunteer workers since December 2012 and to date, we have not had one review that is anything other than excellent. We do our best to make sure our volunteers get the most from their experience with us. Our focus is not so much the work, but what we can teach to and learn from workawayers who come to stay with us. This is a relaxed, laid back volunteer work environment and if you are looking for a break from the party hostels, late drunken nights, and not staying in one place for more than a couple of nights then this might fit the bill. We are in a rural location but we do have a village nearby where we go to regularly for supplies and volunteers can always come with us if they need to stock up. In brief, our arrangement is that each volunteer works for 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday or a total of 20 hours per week, in exchange for very comfortable accommodation and provision of one meal a day, Monday to Friday. Meal preparation and clean up afterwards is shared equally between us and our volunteer workers. Our location is 30km South East of San Rafael which is a town in the Mendoza Province of Argentina and not in or near the city of Mendoza. Please check a map before making an inquiry so that you know where we are. Additionally, please put San Rafael in the subject line of your contact so that we know you have read this bit.
