Area: Pays de la LoireHi. I need some help! I'm looking for someone to come and help out with general DIY and gardening. We've had lots of volunteers here over the past year and have found it a very positive experience. I am British and have lived here on the west coast of France for over 12 years. As well as running holiday accommodation in the summer I teach English in a local high school. I'm looking for someone who can work independently as I'm not always around to organise and over see jobs. Ideally you need to have your own transport too, but this isn't essential. When my daughters are home from university we speak a mixture of English and French. We live in an old farmhouse with a large garden and swimming pool, in a tranquil, rural area about 20 minutes from the beaches of Vendée. We have dogs, cats, chickens, geese, and dwarf sheep as pets. I have lots of jobs both skilled and unskilled to do. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or propositions you might have. I prefer volunteers to stay at least a month but will consider shorter term if it's for a specific task.At the moment it would be great to find someone who would like to spend a few months here.. We are a non-smoking household but I don't object to smoking outdoors as long as cigarette butts are properly disposed of! No drugs though please. I have lived in US, Canada and several European countries. As a family we have lived in the Canary Isles, UK and have now been here for twelve years. Our recent holidays have taken us to Spain and New Zealand. We've had some great experiences with our volunteers so far and are looking forward to continuing to meet new people of all ages and hearing their tales of travels.
Area: KrakówHi, we are Gosia and Maciek and we run a small boutique and a developing label of stylish bike accessories. We love our bikes and our town and we work hard to make our dream come true. At the moment we need graphic designers, filmmakers, photographers, handymen and artists in general - can you help?
Area: BurgundyHorse stud in french countryside, to practice French language immersion. Les français sont bien évidemment les bienvenus aussi ! In 2011 classified 2nd endurance horse stud of French top 100. We breed horse barb, arabian-barb, anglo-arabian and arabian horses. Our four-legged family consists of 55 members, stallions, mares, foals and grown-up horses that we ride mainly to prepare them for endurance races competition. We are in a rural area of cattle and grain crops. To go to the nearest town, Nevers, there are a few buses per day, except Sunday only one in the end of afternoon.
Area: TuscanyImportant: contact me only if you are available at short notice. The 'reservations' are difficult to manage, vary according to the length of time the volunteer who comes before you. and please .. read the profiles before sending messages... I have a vision, a simple life with right people... In this little organic farm (with many animals) we can always use some more hands to help... preferably someone who have manual skills (handyman), who is able to build or repair a hut or build a fence.. Someone rustic and easy going, motivated and passionate in their field. Unfortunately we do not have professional equipment, just some common tools ... :/ so you will have to use your imagination sometimes! Current projects that we would appreciate help with in addition to daily animal care (anyone who wants to try their expertise is welcome of course) include: -building huts from natural materials (a lot, a lot of different aspects to help with), computer issues (really welcome someone able to use Word Press and Photoshop c6 for buidlin web site) I would like learn more about this. I like sharing good times with 'good' people, who are happy, motivated, easy going and open minded. If you are getting fed up with the busy city life, and want to step ‘Into the Wild’ (just like the film but with a happy ending), without many of the comforts from the city but immersed in the countryside/farm lifestyle, getting your hands dirty (with the animals it´s impossible to stay clean for more than one hour) then this is the place for you. A true life in the beautiful countryside of Tuscany. Honestly I prefer volunteers who are single because they are more open with other volunteers and with me, to come and stay here for longer periods of time minimum 2 weeks, hoping everything goes well between us (just remember, this is not a B&B, Hostel or Couch Surfing). We are not Vegan or Vegetarian.. If we remove the meat from our traditional Tuscan dishes, there is almost nothing .. Many of these ancient recipes involving the use of meat or fish eggs .. etc. .. And 'my mother who prepares the food and we can not ask her to change the culture and habits. Unfortunately, we have tried in the past to accept volunteers vegetarian and she has been a problem because it can not do 'diets differentiated' .. we eat what we have... Something about me: I am born in Tuscany, don’t like too much the big city lifestyle. I love recycling everything.. and paint in the middle of a big and crazy chickens hens… I do not like people who are presumptuous, arrogant, know it all .. I appreciate people who are more humble, polite, with common sense of humor and education. I have an immense interest/desire to build structures made only from natural materials, but it´s very hard when money is always less and wood is always more expensive... I want people to be 'transported' when they come here, to a place of fantasy and creativity..Using methods like 'Cob' to build small but beautiful homes that are made from materials given to us by our earth, it would be something similar to a happy 'Hobbit Village' where we are free to live and enjoy each other´s company. The only problem is the space because the house is very small, that´s why we have caravans close to the house and want to build huts to accommodate more people. But you know...’Rome wasn´t built in a day'. We are located in Tuscany, Maremma is the heart of the etruscan land/tuscan countryside (one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany landscape) 25 minutes by car, the city of Grosseto.
