Country: Germany
Description
We are living almost self sustained (regarding meat and veggies) by having a greenhose, big garden, poultry, sheep, pigs, rabbits and bees. We brew our own beer and are interested in a lot of other old handcrafts. A carpenter has his workshop in one of our barns. A lot of space is available for living and working.
We are both working self employed in the internet business. However not full time!
We are looking for somebody who is either interested in learning from/with us or who is interested in teaching us something new.

-> Lots of things to learn - Volunteer Northern GermanyThe workaway experience with the Lufts was wunderbar! I learnt so much about living more self-sufficient. I learnt about baking bread, brewing beer, making pasta, smoking meat, starting a garden, growing vegetables and improved my German speaking greatly. All this alongside a great environment (especially for cycling) and a family always willing to take the time to help you learn.

-> Lots of things to learn - Volunteer Northern GermanyI had a great time Working-Away here! I was taking a break from the city and practicing my German. I loved working in the Garden and learning about all the fun different things that one is actually able to make themselves instead of buy! And of course learning how things are done in the countryside was fun. It was a great farming experience with a great family.

-> Lots of things to learn - Volunteer Northern GermanyAs a first-time, lone traveler from the US, this was a great place to start learning about another culture. The family is friendly and very helpful, with a very energetic dog! The home-grown food is excellent. The rural countryside is fresh and rejuvenating. The work is fun - plenty of odd jobs to do, from working with the animals and garden to helping with the restoration of the farmhouses.

-> CatherineCay was a great help in the garden and house during one of the busiest time of the year. We enjoyed having her here! She was able to practise her german well during her stay. Our dog is still missing her.
