Stay with my family and help at an educational academy. While staying with my family you are welcome to teach English, typing (on laptops donated by a previous volunteer) and/or playing games with the children. You are invited to join our Nepali language class during the school day. We currently have 92 students between the ages of 3-13 years old. We welcome all new volunteers with Tikka and garlands.

Region: Chitwan

Here is a newly established library in Nepal located in Chitwan, a rural village. We started this library in a small room of a house. A modern building is also being constructed that will become a new library for local children. We are providing great opportunities to those children who are unable to access extra services not provided by schools, this will also help children that are unable to get adequate English education. Any volunteering to donate your time and skills as a teacher in our children library would be much appreciated and would help greatly to improve the development of the community. You can spend your gap year, career break or an extended holiday helping children learn English in a fun, enjoyable, friendly and educational way. You can gain invaluable work experience without any previous experience and discover more about yourself and the embedded culture in Nepal through this program. This library is located on the Bank of the Royal Chitwan National Park and the Rapti River in Meghauli which is the eldest and one of the finest wildlife safari destinations in Asia. There are more than 45 species of mammals in the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger and the gharial crocodile along with many other common species such as gaur, wild elephant, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin genetics dolphin, chital, hog deer, barking deer, Solth bear, palm civet, langur, rhesus monkey and 450 species of birds. The village itself is enchanting place with a wide area for sporting activities. Every year the sports Para jumping in Meghauli. One can also see the local Tharu stick dance, tiger dance and mask dance (ghost dance) which are popular in this village.

Region: Normandy

I am the proprietor of a large Chambres d'Hotes in a quiet village in Southern Normandy, just north of the town of Avranches. I was formerly a teacher (Head of Business and Economics in a large Comprehensive school) in England but have now organised a busy Bed and breakfast business here in Normandy. I have a french business partner - she is taking a Masters Degree in international business. My brother and other family live in the neighbouring village of Montviron. The village is quite small so evening entertainment could be a problem. It is a peaceful and relaxing environment. In return for 3 to 4 hours work a day, accommodation and meals are offered. I have a spaniel, a willing bicycle, and live in some beautiful Normandy countryside! Le Luot is about 90 minutes from the Channel Ports of Caen and Cherbourg, and 3 hours from Paris. Its peaceful, quiet but a great place to live!!! There is to be done in the garden but mainly in the house. There are rooms to clean and prepare - and meals to cook. The work takes time but should prove enjoyable and relaxing. Above all we look after our guests! it would help if you can speak conversational french.

We are a Belgian couple, Herwig and Greet, with 2 children, Luna (9 years) and Stiene (7 years), living in a magical part of the south of France: ‘les corbières’ in a small village without amenities 30 minutes from Narbonne and the coast. Seven years ago we left Belgium to start a few lovely, but time-consuming projects. I am a physiotherapist in a village nearby. I love sport, in particular tennis and I love to cook. Herwig works for 6 months a year as a skipper on a tourist boat on the ‘canal du midi’, and is a very keen sailor. The other 6 months are spent looking after 100 olive trees and continuing the renovations of an old shepherd's house (Bergerie) plus our own house, which was originally a wine cellar.

Hi! We are a well travelled Dutch couple who have lived in Australia for 10 years. We often host travellers in our home, Check out the feedback our work awayers have left us. We currently require someone short term at short notice to assist for a rew days to a week walking and feeding our dogs and some chores. we need someone to arrive sunday 7th april as monday wed thu are key days we require assistance. you need to be a keen dog lover and being able to walk two retriever size dogs at the same time.
