Description
We are located on the foot of Monte Amiata, a former volcano with chestnut and beech forests.
The little stone houses are nested in the midst of olive groves, vineyards and a bit of wilderness, surrounded by hills with medieval villages on top of them.
Just a few minutes walk-away runs a fresh mountain river, perfect for having a bath and swim on hot summer afternoons.
I live partly off-grid so far: water comes from the well, electricity is provided by a few solar panels.
The aim is to stay as independent as it makes sense, trying to keep the impact on the land and environment minimal.
Some of the veggies and fruits we eat are homegrown, having the wish and passion to understand how (also by producing food locally) we can create minimal impact.
Some projects:
- culture and horticulture
- maintenance of the olive groves all year round
-olive harvest from mid/end October
- Milling and packaging homegrown wheat and flour
- Breadbaking and cooking
- internal cladding, plastering clay/limestone finishes
- restoring and building drywallsTypes d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Learning about basics of living on and from the land that provides a home is something I try to do everyday. I do not have anything in depth I can really teach you, but sharing stories and my way of moving about this world is something I do enjoy. I learned to slow down living here, it was not easy but something I find rather important.
Some quotes I like:
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." ☆T.R.
„La vita deve essere vissuta, non pensata, perché la vita pensata nega se stessa e si mostra come un guscio vuoto. Bisogna mettere qualche cosa dentro questo guscio, non importa che cosa." ☆ E.M.
"There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle." ☆ A.E.Aide
We need help with building things like dry walls, reconstructing an old well, cleaning and maintaining the land, making fire wood, maintaining the veggie garden, planting an herb garden.
