Area: Mbale Uganda East AfricaI am Freddie and I live in Mbale in Eastern part of Uganda. I work on Radio and TV here and We have an NGO for Rural Young Farmers Our PROJECT THEME is Food security for all. Background: This project was an initiative of five young farmers in Eastern Uganda in the year 2007.This was after a survey carried out that showed suffering youths who had lost hope in their lives. Uganda being 90% an agricultural country with quite a high level of food production but low food security. That is to say most of the people produce for today consumption and they end up forgetting tomorrow. This has been the major reason for food insecurity with in the rural communities of Uganda. We saw it better to help communities through farming. In this project our major target is towards young people as they are the future generation and the most vulnerable stage in society. The youths with their physical ability are a great weapon that can wipe out hunger in communities in eastern Uganda
