Area: New South WalesWe take volunteers for a minimum of 2 weeks and longer if mutually agreeable. Our farm is 4 hours north of Sydney with public transport available to our local town, Merriwa. We are a family of two parents and a son in his twenties that run a farm in the Hunter Valley of NSW. We are used to having volunteers and many stay a lot longer than they planned to as they enjoy the experience so much. We run beef cattle and free range chickens, we have extensive gardens to maintain as well. We enjoy the cultural exchange from travelers from all over the world.
Area:We are a family of four: dad, mum Simona, a girl (15) and a boy (8). We spend some time in our city, and some time in the woods, in the mount Etna, where we have a nice home to repair and renovate, more chestnut, oak, walnut trees to care; there is a lot of work in the garden and in the woods, and much things to do! From may to november we need help on Mount Etna, it's difficult to go everyday to the town, but if you like nature and woods, horticulture and giving help on building construction, it can be a great experience. The town of Catania and the sea are at 50 minutes from the woods. We also have a farm in the centre of Sicily where sometimes we need some help! Simona is also involved in book conservation, bookbinding art projects, and sometime she needs some help with book conservation or bookbinding projects. We can accommodate 1 workawayer in Catania, but 2 workawayers or a little family with a van if we are in the woods. Contact us for more information.

Area: QuebecBonjour - Hi I´m person who likes to work physically, with a happy face and trying to be cool, I operate a little farm on wich I respect life (organic no certified). For me, a farm is an old dream. Before, I was in movement business (acrobat, mime, dancer) About a dozen of different vegetables (mainly garlic) and berries are cultivated. Few chickens for eggs and flesh. I don't have tractor or other mechanised tools, all the jobs are done manually Personne sociable, travailleuse et joviale.
Area: OhioMy husband and I run a pet care facility for dogs and cats. We are in our 50's. We take the dogs out for trail walks on our 4 acres, provide daily care, cleaning up after the pets, and bathing/grooming. They say if you love what you do that you never have to work a day in your life....so we are very happy. While our beautiful spot in the hills is wooded and feels like the country, we are within two miles of major shopping areas. One of the largest parks in the Eastern U.S. with hiking and canoeing begins less than a mile away. Also at the park is a vintage train-if you pay two dollars, you can ride with your bike and then bike back (or ride both ways!) If you like the arts, we have many museums and two famous symphonies within a one hour drive. We are in Akron, 45 minutes drive from Cleveland and Lake Erie and the islands. We have a nice mountain bike to lend and can provide some transportation depending on the business hours too. If you are improving your English speaking, I have a Masters from the Dept. of English from Bowling Green State University in 2001 and as a graduate student have taught Freshman Composition with many students in the ESL program (English as a Second Language). So I won't teach you bad English!
