Area: Figueira da Foz, SoureTermas da Azenha is a little village on its own, and it´s old already. There are 7 buildings, the old thermal baths being the centre. I live here with my two sons, our ages: 51, 20 & 18. Most of the time there are volunteers and guests around. What I do: receive guests in summer, so than it is all about cleaning, cooking, making a nice atmosphere. The rest of the year I´m (re)building or doing maintenance work. Than it´s all about sanding, painting, tiling and mosaicing. I try to have some people at the same time, so you´ll have company. In your free time, you can watch films, read books, talk to the donkeys or play with the cats, go to the beach, visit some cities in the neighbourhood, game with my sons or do whatever you like to do. Everything is decorated in a special way. It is an art-project ~ a lot of mosaics and wallpaintings around. Like to be creative? For this winter, I am looking specially for people who like to help with mosaics. If you have any experience, or if you are really creative, please respond! A small "warning": there will not be so many people around, so it´s nice if you like to do things on your own, or with a few others. It´s perfect for people who want to have a time-out to think about their past and/or future. Hope to see you! Sunny greetings, Ellen Lanser
Area: AbruzzoWe have a little biological farm holiday in the centre of Abruzzo National Parks at 850m a.l.s. Marino lives there with Elide and a lot of friends who come to visit them.
Area: Bali, Ubud, Badung areaWe are a unique organic permaculture garden and retreat center with 4 hectares of lush tropical vegetation in the heart of Bali. Situated in a tranquil and secluded environment in the outskirts of a small village, a 20 minute drive from Ubud. Our organic garden benefits the local Lagu Damai foundation to support action projects and study programs for Indonesian youths. Our vision is to create a self-sufficient compound, integrating biological permaculture with water preservation, waste recycling and in future hoping to include the application of solar energy. Furthermore we want to provide a meeting place for individuals from all over the world to learn about tropical fauna and flora and to foster know-how exchange in the field of agro-permaculture through internships, training courses and volunteer opportunities. Our permaculture garden is designed in accordance with nature. We practice sustainable biological gardening based on EM-Technologies (effective microorganisms). A focus is to preserve rare species of indigenous plants. One area of the garden contains a variety of medicinal herbs, in other areas we grow plants organic vegetables and fruit. The land is blessed with several natural springs which produce high quality water. The water is naturally circulated into the ponds surrounding the buildings and then flows into the agro gardens to water the plants. The ponds and water have been exposed to EM-Technology and as a result the breeding of mosquitoes has been significantly reduced. A large compost area was introduced to compost all materials with EM technology in order to produce a healthy fertilizer. A four-part open septic tank, based on EM and biological principles, is installed for recycling human waste. Solar energy and other renewable forms of energy generation are presently being investigated.

Area: NebraskaI own a water drilling company in the sand hills of Nebraska where my wife and I have raised 5 children on our ranch of cattle and quarter horses. We enjoy riding horses for our past time. Almost every night, you can find my youngest son of 15 practicing for an upcoming rodeo. Our house is 15 miles away from a town of 9,000 people called Alliance. Alliance is located 4 hours from Denver, Colorado and 3 hrs from Rapid City, SD. My family enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, dancing, and partaking in local small town festivals. There are multiple popular tourist locations and activities in this area; Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument, Jailhouse Bluffs, Chimney Rock, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Skiing Resorts, bicycling/hiking trails, rafting and canoeing, hunting, fishing, and horse backing.
