Beschreibung
Welcome to 'extreme makeover'.
I am an architect (52 yrs) and in 2004 I bought an old log cabin house dated 1866. This is located in Møre og Romsdal which is in the north-western part of south-norway. I have lived in Oslo for many years and was running a B&B there. I have had volunteers working both here at the renovation and at the B&B in Oslo from 2004. It has been a very good experience both for me as a host and for the visitors.
It is difficult to have volunteers in the winter months. The guest rooms are too cold. But this depends on the temperature and weather. You are welcome to ask.

BuildingArbeit
I am renovating the old house, building an addition to it and completing a new structure, a small modern cabin with parking on the roof.
The work varies as projects move along. So far volunteers have participated in tearing down building parts, building up masonry walls, putting on new roofing (on the outhouse), building skafolding, deck, repair siding, painting walls, putting in a window in an old wall etc. Some of the volunteers have also creatively taken the initiative to small projects of their own, like building a box for firewood, a box for organic waist, building an outdoor shower, sewing a hammoc, making a pot-and-pan rack for the kitchen made of an old bike-wheel, etc.
The jobs waiting now are at all levels of construction from foundation of an addition to the house and building it up. Jacking the old structure and making new foundation under existing walls. Prepare for concrete roof elements for the new structure. Building walls in wood. Put in windows and doors.
Volunteers should be fairly practically skilled. Experience in construction is not neccessary, but having done some practical work before is a must.

Unterkunft
We have guest rooms in the old house. We have a wonderful and extremely simple out-door shower. The wonderful thing about it is the panoramic view while you take a shower. Simple outhouse-toilet facilities. Access to modern facilities at the neighbor house or in the village.
